INTERNAZIONAL EVENTS WEEK, TORINO, ITALIA
3 - 7 OCTOBER 2013
CRISIS & REBIRTH
COMMUNITY DRAMA
Conference, workshops, performances, film
Community Drama comes back home to Turin, where it was born, to be
consolidated and analysed in its specificity and roots with a 360° experience
macro event articulated in an international conference, workshops, performances
and film; all events are open to operators, citizens, main players of the CD scene
and public.
In the past ten years Community Theater has seen ax extraordinary growth, the
participation of citizens, and the involvement of various cultures, thus promoting
change in local relationships, enhancing general well being, exploring new forms of
communications and new languages, building new professional profiles and
generating jobs. Specific education services are born and, despite meagre funding,
new projects are sprouting that offer to the community consistent occasions of
regeneration, in a balance between art and innovation, participation and research.
Through Community Drama in particular, where artists and citizens work together,
new stories are narrated and visions of a future beyond crisis are staged.
