Giulio Polibio, made thanks to the study of casts, appears as in a breath of smoke from the eruption burning ashes. In another room, the last in the tour way, materializes the melting imagine of a young expectant woman and you can listen the frantic palpitation of their two hearts before the tragedy. In the “Week of Culture” itinerary even the Herculaneum, Oplonti, Stabia sites and the Antiquarium of Boscoreale are part of it. “MARTEDÌ IN ARTE”: LA CITTÀ ANTICA “BY NIGHT” DA APRILE GLI SCAVI IN ABITO DA SERA © riproduzione riservata Open excavations up to 11.00 p.m. each last Tuesday of the month, from 26th April to 27th December. ORNELLA MUTI ON STAGE WITH “THE JEW” ON APRIL FROM 7TH TO 10TH AT THE DI COSTANZO-MATTIELLO “The Jew” of Giovanni Clementi, directed by Enrico Maria Lamanna will go on stage at the “Di CostanzoMattiello” theatre of Pompeii from 7th to 10th April, on the occasion of the Campanian Public Theatre season. The theatrical debut for Ornella Muti, star and Italian icon of beauty, who at the age of fifty-five years expose a look of “femme fatale” with platinum blond head of hair, a face without wrinkles and a young girl body. A second found youth gives her a charge and a special glamour to face the leap from the set to the curtain, with the enthusiasm and the legitimate shakes of the debutant who takes a stab at her first time. For the debut, the beautiful Ornella has not chose an easy and light text. It is a tragicomedy in Roman vernacular. Clementi draw his inspiration from a paragraph on a journal, to tell the story of these two poor men: the delivery man Marcello Consalvi and his wife Immacolata, forced to barely make ends meet and to do the kitchen maid, who during the period of the racial laws issued from the fascist regime, they accept to be as figurehead of a rich Jew who heads them all his goods for fear of losing them. The Jew, owner fabrics shop where Marcello works, suffers the same destiny to many during that terrible years, he was deported during the famous raid of the 16th October 1943, and the couple find herself rich and owner of a sumptuous flat in the roman ghetto. Immacolata clings she’s all to that unexpected comfort, she feels hunted down and lives in constant terror of a possible return of the Jew. Greedy and calculating woman, she has to square with a weak husband and with that money that she constantly computes with greed, seducing anybody could represent a danger to her opulence. Thirteen years after, the dreaded phantom of the old owner knocks on the door, the two shut themselves in the house, they have to found a solution, getting rid of the enemy. The atmosphere dyes itself of yellow, fear, meanness, drama, comes one after the other up to a tragic, surreal and grotesque ending, that we do not disclose to leave to the spectator the noir surprise effect. THE WHEAT’S PASTIERA, EASTER QUEEN IN CAMPANIA THIS IS THE CAKE’S HISTORY AND THE SECRETS TO MAKE IT AT HOME COOKING ~ GASTRONOMIA La Pasqua, giorno in cui i cristiani celebrano la resurrezione di Cristo, è ormai alle porte. Pasta frolla preparata in precedenza. Procedimento: impastare ricotta e zucchero. Raffreddare e sformare. A feast very awaited for her high symbolic value to which, as ever, tasty enogastronomic specialities add. For example, in Campania it is a tradition that, during the Easter holidays the wheat’s pastiera is an inevitable cake on the table. A recipe with simple ingredients (ricotta cheese, sugar, cooked wheat, sweet, milk, lard and eggs) but nutritious, which marked in this way the end of the Lenten period, in which a limitation in diet was observed. With the De Vivo confectioner’s shop specialists, we retrace this cake’s history, whom origins date back to a lot of centuries ago. “The pastiera- explains Marco De Vivo- goes back to the ritual flat cake which released at the Constantine the Great time, in III-IV century A.D., coming from the milk and honey offering, that the catechumens received during the sacred Easter night at the end of the baptismal ceremony. The current version was probably elaborated in the Neapolitan monastery’s reserve. A nun, the history tells, wants that in this cake, symbol of Resurrection, was joined the smell of nunnery garden’s orange flowers with the ricotta cheese and an handful of wheat that, buried underground, sprouts and rises bright as gold. Then she joins the egg, symbol of new life, the thousand flowers water, smelling as spring, the citrus and aromatic spices. It’s certain that nuns of the San Gregorio Armeno old convent in Naples were considered masters in the elaborate preparation of the pastiera and during the Easter period package a great deal of them for the patrician houses and rich bourgeoisie dining halls”. The pastiera in this period prevails in confectioner’s shops and even in houses. But which are secrets to prepare a vary good pastiera made at home? “Just joining- discloses De Vivo – 50 grams of honey to the mixture, it needs riddling with holes the pastafrolla to avoid that it rises during the baking and take it out of the even only after it gets cold.” “INCONTRIAMOCI A TEATRO”, GRAN FINALE CON MARIO MAGLIONE AD APRILE GLI ULTIMI DUE SPETTACOLI DELLA RASSEGNA TEATRALE © riproduzione riservata informazioni e prenotazioni: tel. 3280558200 - 0818610635 0815369191 - 0818612237 Biglietto 12,00 euro. In this way the woman will dress during the next season’s fashion”. The floral is the most important among the fashion trends “Sprig-Summer 2011”: flowers, floral and botanic pattern, are required by the summer fashion. But also a new romanticism which express itself with rouches, light clothes, laces and floral prints. Andrea Boccia, young Pompeian entrepreneur in the fashionwoman field, discloses which will be the “must” of the next hot season, which is just around the corner. With his experience, he takes women to find their style or only a little inspiration. “The fashion Spring Summer 2011- says Andrea- promises to rediscover tone farback absent from the parades”. Therefore it looks like it’s going to an explosion of vitaminic colours as pink, light blue, blue, red and orange that will give energy and light to the summer woman’s fashion. “ Even the evening dresses- he continues- will be coloured, they will be less characterized of the black and they assume bright colours, without losing elegance and mystery”. It will be a spring-summer fluorescent’s colours. That’s, gone out from the winter greyness, the woman fashion comes to colour and life. Wonderful combinations of bright yellow, orange, apple green, fuchsia and turquoise, in a somersault of enthusiasm which will infect certainly the moods. After a season dominated by neutral colours and by the minimalism, the citrus fruit are to boss the show with tangerine colour skirts, lemon yellow blazer, grapefruit blouse and so on. The strong, vitaminic and impact colours are the leitmotiv of the bigger fashion house parades. Bold mix of colours at superimposed blocks, which fit together for a dazzling style, in all senses. The real trend of the spring/summer 2011 is, therefore, matching and blending at least three different colours. But if you love total black or “nude”, start at least with combinations of colour “in small doses”: this summer being trendy means dressing shamelessly coloured. Good look! With a view to the XXV edition of the “Youth Meeting”, the organizers get ready to welcome the thoughts, the stories and the prayers of the thousands of boys who “will flood” the Meeting Area where, as each year, the event will take place. It will be characterised, as tradition wants, from the extraordinary commitment of representatives of the Catholic world and of the institutions, sportsperson and artists who will offer cues of reflection and will give emotions to Meeting people. This meeting is important first of all because its aim is giving hope to youth, time and again misunderstood to a society marked by hectic rhythms of life, which has no time to deal with their human and spiritual growth. “We hope – highlights don Giovanni Russo responsible of the Youth Pastoral- that from the huge grass, which each year holds thousands of youth of the Meeting, can actually reap the fruits of the new legality’s culture”. During the event many projects of solidarity will be presented. The Meeting, over the years, put these projects into actions in Italy and abroad, thanks to the support of whom, attending, contributed to their achievement. © riproduzione riservata CODE BAR: THE APERITIF MARRIES THE HAUTE COUTURE A NEW CONCEPT AMONG “TRENDY” BAR AND FASHION STORE What have in common clothing accessories, like shoes, bags and belts, with espresso, cocktails and aperitifs in fashion? From today it’s the Code Bar, a new concept club which joins the “trendy” bar philosophy to the fashion store one, where it is possible to find the most national and international renowned designed labels articles of clothing. It’s the first club of this kind in Pompeii, which only since few years is spread in others Italian cities and in the main European metropolis. In short, at the Code Bar it’s possible having breakfast, a drink , listening to good music and at the same time admiring (and why not buying) shoes, bags, belts and haute couture articles. In addition, on the screen at the club entrance scroll the most prestigious images of the most well-know house fashion shows. It’s not a accident The Code Bar was born from an inspired guess of Gino Longobardi, Pipol Fashion Store owner, that for years it is one of the landmarks for the young and designer fashion. The Friday night aperitif is the crowning moment of the week at the Code Bar, enriched by good music and by an atmosphere definitely young. A custom, that of the aperitif, to consume before lunch and dinner to whet the appetite, it is by now spread all over the world and started from Italy at the end of XIX century. Even it seems that already Romans and Pompeians of two thousand years ago, before the out-and-out meal, loved tasting the “mulsum”, a particular mixture of wine and honey, precursor of modern cocktails. However, since then, the aperitif comes a long way, becoming the custom of nowadays with his function to socialize, it allow to stay with friends and, why not, even to talk about business. A long history behind it which arrives up to Code Bar, where the desire to drink something in company marries with the haute couture. “Il fenomeno Pompei – secondo le ultime stime – è sfruttato © riproduzione riservata POMPEI LAB – EVENTI DEL MESE DI APRILE SABATO 16/4 - LOUIS B. & CHANCE GIARDINIERI IN CONCERTO SABATO 23/4 - DJ SET A CURA DI ERCOLE LONGOBARDI SABATO 30/4 - DILIS IN CONCERTO AREA EX DEPURATORE, VIA ASTOLELLE – POMPEI - WWW.POMPEILAB.COM
