TRULY AND PROUDLY
MADE IN ITALY —
In Old Aramaic, the word Horm means “sacred enclosure with
the right to asylum”. This enclosure, metaphorically speaking,
has been constructed and looked after in Northeast Italy, a few
kilometres from the city of Pordenone. It receives great masters
of contemporary architecture, artists of international fame and
versatile designers who, thanks to the experience handed down
from generation to generation and the passion for wood of the
Horm craftsmen, contribute to the development of products of great
character that combine aesthetics, functionality and awe. “The Sequel”
comes along with the Horm general catalogue (Design_Passion_
Ideas_Home) and offes a 360-degree view of the products that the
company added to its collection in 2012 and 2013. Furthermore,
“The Sequel” elaborates upon and develops the concept of the Horm
loft, presented at the International Furniture Exhibition in Milan
in April 2013. With its wide range of over 70 products, which come
in a variety of sizes and finishes, Horm is able to create complete
living environments that range from the dining room to the study
and from the bedroom to the living room. Above all, however,
with its range of furniture, which bring together simplicity, art and
innovation, Horm offers a home environment that is essential, as well
as refined, lending every home an air of uniqueness and exclusivity.

Prefazione / Preface
In aramaico antico Horm significa
“recinto sacro con diritto di asilo”.
Questo recinto, metaforicamente
costruito e accudito nel NordEst d’Italia, a pochi chilometri
dalla città di Pordenone, accoglie
grandi maestri dell’architettura
contemporanea, artisti di fama
internazionale e poliedrici designers
che, grazie all’esperienza tramandata
di generazione in generazione e
all’amore per il legno degli artigiani
Horm, contribuiscono allo sviluppo
di prodotti dalla grande personalità
che coniugano estetica, funzionalità
e stupore. “The Sequel” si affianca al
catalogo generale Horm (Design_
Passion_Ideas_Home) e offre una
panoramica a 360° sui prodotti che
l’azienda ha inserito in collezione nel
2012 e 2013. Ma non solo!
“The Sequel” elabora e sviluppa il
concetto del loft Horm, presentato
al Salone Internazionale del Mobile
di Milano nell’Aprile 2013. Con
la sua ampia collezione di oltre 70
prodotti, declinati in varie misure e
finiture, Horm è in grado di creare
ambientazioni living complete,
dalla sala da pranzo allo studio,
dalla camera da letto al soggiorno.
Ma soprattutto, con i suoi arredi,
connubio di semplicità, arte e
innovazione, Horm offre ai più
esigenti un ambiente domestico
essenziale ma al contempo ricercato,
conferendo ad ogni abitazione un
carattere di unicità ed esclusività.
En ancien araméen Horm signifie
“enceinte sacrée avec droit d'asile”.
Cette enceinte, construite de façon
métaphorique et soignée dans le
Nord-Est de l'Italie, à quelques
kilomètres de la ville de Pordenone,
accueille les grands maîtres de
l'architecture contemporaine, des
artistes de renommée internationale
et des designers polyvalents qui,
grâce à l'expérience transmise de
génération en génération et l’amour
pour le bois des artisans Horm,
contribuent au développement de
produits avec une forte personnalité
alliant l’esthétique, la fonctionnalité
et créant la stupéfaction. “The Sequel”
rejoint le catalogue général Horm
(Design_Passion_Ideas_Home) et
offre une vue à 360° sur les produits
que l'entreprise a ajouté à sa collection
en 2012 et 2013. Mais ce n’est pas
tout! “The Sequel” élabore et développe
le concept du loft Horm, présenté au
Salon international du meuble à Milan
en avril 2013. Avec sa vaste collection
de plus de 70 produits, disponibles en
différentes tailles et finitions, Horm
sait créer des espaces de vie complets,
de la salle à manger au bureau, de la
chambre au séjour. Mais surtout, avec
son mobilier associant la simplicité,
l'art et l'innovation, Horm offre

en generación y al amor por la madera
de los artesanos Horm, contribuyen

se añade al catálogo general Horm
(Design_Passion_Ideas_Home) y
ofrece una panorámica a 360° sobre
los productos que la empresa ha

elabora y desarrolla el concepto del
loft Horm, presentado en el Salón

each other. The balance of forces expresses movement and
instability, but the unity and solidarity of the grid generate power
and strength, and the table stands firmly by itself.

esprime movimento e instabilità ma,

fins de Autoreggente s’appuient et
s’encastrent les uns sur les autres.

Bureau is a modern desk, for writing, “surfing” (the Internet) or
daydreaming. It is ideal for small homes where the spaces become polyfunctional. Bureau in fact stands out for its discretion, thanks to the
characteristic of closing in on itself, hiding inside the privacy of its users.

scrittoio, per scrivere, “navigare” (in
Internet) o sognare (ad occhi aperti).
È ideale per le piccole abitazioni in
cui gli spazi diventano poli-funzionali.
Bureau infatti si contraddistingue
per la sua discrezione, grazie alla
caratteristica di richiudersi su sé stesso,
celando al suo interno la privacy del
suo utilizzatore.
BUREAU — Bureau est un meuble
bureau moderne, pour écrire,
“naviguer” (sur internet) ou rêver
(les yeux ouverts). Il est parfait pour
les petites habitations où les espaces
deviennent polyfonctionnels. Grâce à
sa capacité à se refermer sur lui-même,
Bureau se distingue, en effet, par sa
discrétion, dissimulant à l’intérieur la

Ilaria Marelli, 2012
Elfo is a versatile ottoman supporting the yearning for rest of its
host, becoming a chair when placed in an upright position, a chaise
longue when placed in diagonal position, or a comfortable mattress
in its horizontal position. Elfo is a collaboration of Horm with the
brand Orizzonti and Ilaria Marelli, who designed it as a complement
of the sleeping area next to the Orizzonti beds, and as a playful and
comfortable seating for furnishing the living space of Horm.

ELFO — Elfo è un pouff versatile
che asseconda il desiderio di riposo
del suo ospite trasformandosi in
poltrona se posto in posizione verticale,
in chaise longue quando è posto in
posizione diagonale, oppure in
un comodo materassino nella sua
posizione orizzontale. Elfo nasce
dalla collaborazione di Horm con
il marchio Orizzonti e con Ilaria
Marelli che lo ha disegnato come
complemento della zona notte accanto
ai letti Orizzonti e come seduta
giocosa e confortevole per arredare gli
ambienti living di Horm.
ELFO — Elfo est un pouf versatile
satisfaisant le désir de repos de son
hôte en se transformant en fauteuil
en position verticale, en chaise longue
en position diagonale, ou en un
confortable matelas à l’horizontale.
Elfo naît de la collaboration de
Horm avec la marque Orizzonti et
Ilaria Marelli qu’il l’a conçu comme
complément de la zone nuit s’ajoutant
aux lits Orizzonti et comme assise
amusante et confortable pour meubler
les espaces livings de Horm.

se adapta a los deseos de reposo de su
ocupante, transformándose en un sofá
si está en posición vertical, en chaise
longue si está en posición diagonal o
en un cómodo colchón en su posición

The Infinity series containers are made of square units with lacquered
frame and doors veneered with bois blond stained beech. The doors are
covered with three elements of decorative lacquered laminate attached
by means of hidden magnets and whose arrangement determines
the line pattern shown on the front of each container. Interestingly
enough, each line moves across doors in a continued and seemingly
infinite pattern, regardless of the chosen arrangement. Furthermore,
the magnetic attachment allows changing the element arrangement at
will to produce dynamic, original designs.

Le ante sono rivestite da tre elementi
decorativi di laminato laccato, applicati
per mezzo di magneti a scomparsa. In
base alla disposizione che si attribuisce
a questi elementi, il frontale dei
contenitori assume un motivo grafico
diverso e a ogni linea che esce da
un’anta, corrisponde una nuova linea
che fa continuare il disegno all’infinito.
Gli attacchi magnetici offrono la
possibilità di variare in qualunque
momento la disposizione dei tre inserti
di laminato, modificando in tal modo il
disegno che appare sul frontale.
INFINITY — Les réceptacles de
la série Infinity sont composés de
modules carrés avec une structure
laquée et des portes plaquées en
hêtre teint bois blond. Les portes sont
recouvertes de trois éléments décoratifs
en mélaminé laqué, qui s’appliquent
grâce à des aimants cachés. La partie
antérieure des réceptacles présente un
motif graphique différent en fonction
de la disposition de ces éléments et
à chaque ligne qui sort d’une porte,
correspond une nouvelle ligne qui
prolonge le dessin à l’infini. Les
fixations magnétiques permettent de
changer à tout moment la disposition
des trois éléments en mélaminé,
modifiant ainsi le dessin qui apparaît
sur la partie antérieure.

INFINITY — Los contenedores de
la serie Infinity están formados por
muebles cuadrados con estructura
lacada y hojas barnizadas en haya
bois blond. Puertas revestidas por tres
elementos decorativos de laminado
lacado, aplicados por medio de imanes

atribuye a estos elementos, la parte
delantera de los contenedores asume

cada línea que sale de una puerta se

Les portes d’Infinity sont recouvertes de trois

The bedside table is the most personal piece of furniture, because
it is a private place that conceals and protects our secrets and our
precious delights. But it is also the only supplement which often
decorates our houses jointly with a “partner”. For this reason, Esa
Vesmanen has dubbed his creation Io e Te (You and I), because the
tables, like two lovers, also share a life in the private space of the
bedroom. On the other hand, in the day area, Io e Te can be turned
into a nice bedside table, with a drawer that can be completely
pulled out and, if necessary, used as a comfortable tray table.

IO E TE — Il comodino è il
complemento d’arredo più personale,
poiché è un luogo privato che cela e
protegge i nostri segreti e le nostre
preziose gioie. Ma è anche l’unico
complemento che spesso arreda
le nostre case affiancato dal suo
“compagno/a”. Per questo motivo,
Esa Vesmanen ha battezzato la sua
creazione Io e Te, perché anche i
comodini, come due innamorati,
condividono per la vita lo spazio
privato della zona notte. Nell’area
giorno invece, Io e Te si trasforma in
un simpatico tavolino di servizio, con
un cassetto completamente estraibile
che all’occorrenza può essere
utilizzato come un comodo vassoio.
IO E TE — La table de chevet est
le meuble le plus personnel qui soit,
car c’est un endroit privé qui cache
et protège nos secrets et nos joies
les plus précieuses. Mais c’est aussi
le seul complément qui meuble nos
maisons assisté de son “compagnon/
compagne”. C’est pour cette raison
que Esa Vesmanen a baptisé sa création
Io e Te (Moi et Toi), car, comme
deux amoureux, les tables de chevet
partagent pour toute la vie l’espace
privé de la partie nuit. Dans l’espace
jour au contraire Io e Te se transforme
en une agréable petite table de service
avec un tiroir complètement extractible
qui le cas échéant peut être servir de
plateau pratique.

In the Japanese culture, the “ki” represents the energy found in every
element. It is the inspiration for the challenging formal research
that Mario Bellini solved with refined and modern taste. The
result is a sinuous, lightweight seat, partly due to its polyurethane
foam inside. The back, embellished with an embossed decoration
reminiscent of the diamond pattern of stitched fabric upholstery,
is the formal feature for a chair that combines simplicity, elegance
and ergonomics. After their orginal version in embossed white and
black lacquer, the Ki chairs have been presented in an open pore ash
lacquer finish since 2013.

cultura giapponese rappresenta
l’energia che si manifesta in ogni
elemento, è l’ispirazione della ricerca
formale che Mario Bellini ha risolto
con gusto raffinato e moderno.
Il risultato è una seduta sinuosa e
leggerissima, perché ha l’interno in
schiuma poliuretanica. Lo schienale,
arricchito da un decoro a rilievo che
ricorda l’impuntura a rombi di un
tessuto imbottito, è il tratto formale
di una sedia che coniuga semplicità,
ergonomia ed eleganza. Dopo la
prima edizione in laccato goffrato
bianco e nero, dal 2013 le sedie KI
sono proposte in frassino laccato a
poro aperto.
KI OPEN PORE — Le “ki”, qui
représente l’énergie se manifestant
dans chaque élément dans la culture
japonaise, s’inspire d’une recherche
de forme difficile que Mario Bellini
a résolue par un style raffiné et
moderne. Le résultat est une assise
sinueuse et très légère car l’intérieur
est en mousse polyuréthane. Le
dossier, enrichi d’un décor en relief
qui rappelle la piqûre en losanges
d’un tissu rembourré, est le détail
qui distingue une chaise conjuguant
simplicité, ergonomie et élégance.
Après la première édition en laqué
gaufré noir et blanc, les chaises KI
sont disponibles depuis 2013 en frêne
laqué à pores ouverts.

Leon plays with an awe-provoking optical effect that underlies its
salient feature, that is, a standpoint-dependent visualization. From
the front, the doors appear marked by vertical multi-coloured stripes
yet, when observed from the side, dark or light uniformity prevails.
Even the unique lacquered white finish produces the same effects
through room lighting.

LEON — Leon gioca con un
suggestivo effetto ottico che determina
la sua caratteristica saliente: apparire
diverso a seconda del punto di
osservazione. Frontalmente le ante
sono scandite da un motivo a righe
verticali policrome ma, osservandole
lateralmente, prevale l’omogeneità
chiara o scura. Anche la versione in
finitura unica, laccata bianca, funziona
grazie al gioco d’ombre che si crea
con la luce d’ambiente.
LEON — Leon joue avec un effet
optique fascinant qui en détermine sa
caractéristique dominante: apparaître
différemment selon le point de vue.
De face, les portes sont rythmées par le
motif des lignes verticales polychromes
mais, en les observant de côté, c’est
l’homogénéité claire ou sombre qui
domine. Même la version simple de
finition unique, laquée en blanc,
fonctionne grâce au jeu d’ombres
défini par la lumière ambiante.

Milos is a family of upholstered armchairs and sofas characterized
by soft and seductive shapes. The Milos project is a collaboration
of Horm with the Design Center of Orizzonti, a renowned brand
from the Brianza region in Northern Italy, which offers a large and
highly-specialized collection of upholstered beds for the sleeping
area. Milos was born from the idea that every home is indeed unique
and reflects the personality and lifestyle of its guests. For this reason,
Milos sofas are removable and can be dressed and covered in a flash
with more than 40 fabrics from the Horm collection, assuming a
relaxed and playful yet elegant and sophisticated aspect, or that of

Numero 3 is an intriguing name, it’s true! In fact it is not connected
to the design of the object in itself, but to the fact that Numero 3 is
the third lamp designed by Patrizia Bertolini, whose collaboration
with Horm dates back to the early years of the company’s life.
The steel base, which acts as a counterweight, is designed so that it
can be placed under a table top to bring the beam of light to where
it can be most useful.

NUMERO 3 — Numero 3 è un nome
che incuriosisce, è vero! Infatti non è
legato al design dell’oggetto di per sé,
ma al fatto che Numero 3 è la terza
lampada disegnata da Patrizia Bertolini,
la cui collaborazione con Horm risale ai
primi anni di vita dell’azienda. La base
in acciaio che funge da contrappeso
è progettata affinché possa essere
inserita sotto il piano di un tavolo per
avvicinare il fascio luminoso dove più
può essere utile.

Il se rapporte, en effet, non pas au
design de l’objet en tant que tel, mais
au fait que Numero 3 est la troisième

The originality and workmanship of its legs are the outstanding
features of the Riddled table, which incorporates the notion of
porosity found in multiple architecture works by Steven Holl. The
thin sheets of wood, folded through laser engraving, make this
project even more spectacular in its apparent defiance of the laws of
physics. These four legs, akin to origami sculptures, allow the passage
of the internal light to create a myriad of lights and shadows.

la lavorazione delle gambe sono le vere
protagoniste del tavolo Riddled, che
riprende il tema della porosità presente
in molte architetture di Steven Holl. I
sottilissimi fogli di legno, piegati grazie
a delle incisioni laser, rendono ancor
più spettacolare questo progetto, che
sembra una sfida alle leggi della fisica.
Le quattro gambe, simili a scultorei
origami, permettono alla luce interna
di trapassarle in una vera e propria
esplosione di giochi d’ombre.

acteurs de la table Riddled, qui
reprend le thème de la porosité

della celebre libreria-scultura che

Woodclock, a construction that metaphorically represents the perfect
