To celebrate the opening of the new Dior Joaillerie boutique located at 34 Avenue Montaigne, Victoire de Castellane has designed an exclusive selection of limited-edition pieces. Victoire de Castellane, Creative Director of Dior Joaillerie, has designed a number of jewelry and timepieces available exclusively in the new Paris boutique conceived by Peter Marino. The numbered La D de Dior model comes in chrysoprase, yellow gold and diamonds with a delicate green lizard strap, while the Dior VIII Grand Bal Coquette comes with a polished rose gold case set with diamonds, a malachite dial and a green alligator strap. The rotor decorated with feathers, sapphires, amethysts and diamonds is placed on top of the dial where it suggests the twirling movement of a ball gown. The Archi Dior jewelry collection inspired by Christian Dior’s passion for architecture and in which each piece carries the name of an iconic couture line or dress welcomes five exclusive creations. The Bar en Corolle ring is reinterpreted in white and yellow gold with diamonds and emeralds, while the Milieu du Siècle necklace, two pairs of earrings and ring are revisited in white gold, diamonds, emeralds and tsavorites. DIOR FRANCESCATORSI.UFASHON.COM ELISABETTA FRANCHI DOLCE & GABBANA DOLCE & GABBANA EMPORIO ARMANI NINA RICCI Strictly speaking, it looks like the maxi version of the lovely wedding handbags, relocked aloft by a thin strap, but a bucket bag is much more: it can be equally romantic (on the runway we’ve seen it paraded also in delicate pastel chiffon and silk). However, its strength is in its way of being so smart, capacious, versatile and perfect all day long. Sometimes they come back ... and thankfully. Because it is revival and in great style. This bag model was successful during the Eighties and is now finding an entire host of faithful followers that loved it so much. Above all, it is winning the hearts of young fashionistas thanks to its “accordion effect”; a very soft and capacious bag with strings to close it at the top with a knot. When the strings are opened, it reveals the width of a model proposed in many materials, also very precious, such as fur, and in so many different nuances, colorful and classic. An array of riches. The intimacy of English parlors, where floral wallpaper echoes gold dipped porcelain, it is the main concept of the new Fall/Winter 2016-17 Collection by Giuliana Mancinelli Bonafaccia. The Roman designer uses “rivoli” and “navette” cut stones on jewelry, mini-bags and polychrome clutches, leading us to the finely decorated meanders of the mid-nineteenth century cottages and mansions, in the intimate spaces and the noble traits of the novel “Vanity Fair”, suggesting green, rose gold and palladium dipped ornaments, as a reminiscence of sumptuous antique tinsels. Sinuous leaf decorations, connected to opalescent Swarovski pearls create asymmetric filaments with botanical allure for the earrings and rings, climbing on the wrist in the bracelets and blossoming at the extremity of necklaces and pendants. The handbags, in the mini and maxi version, are the right synthesis between material research and perfect color theory with their extremely desirable “student” style. The palette dares to create contrast to emphasize the contemporary approach devoted to design with its highly artificial tones. Hence the triumph of color in the jewelry with vibrant hues: Jade, lime, olive green, dust rose, ash grey, padparadscha red and sunflower yellow; as for handbags we have overlays of mustard, bright red, pink, sapphire blue and burgundy, emphasized by tridimensional ruffles that mirror the opulent interiors of 19th century. LORA NIKOLOVA BIJOUX & ART ALICE OLIVIA AKRIS ROBERTO CAVALLI ARTHUR ARBESSER ANNA SUI GUCCI ASHLEY WILLIAMS Nero, grigio, blue marine, beige e al massimo bordeaux? Troppo eccentrico? Ma no! ANDREW GN ALMEIDA ASHISH ROBERTO CAVALLI BLUMARINE ANTEPRIMA ANNA SUI ANNA SUI BROOKS COLLECTION FENDI ASHISH SALVATORE FERRAGAMO Black, grey, blue marine, beige and burgundy? Forget about these classic colors for winter because on the runways we saw many bags and shoes. Yes, plain colours, but amazing colors! Yellow, pink, orange, green, blue and red for a color therapy that will help us not think of the grey skies and cold days coming up. Sleek and glamorous, it is impossible to resist the charm of a winter that is finally technicolor and that shines with joie de vivre iconic garments and accessories designed to seduce and enchant with their intense desire to dare and defy the usual unwritten rules of the fashion world privileging rigor in colors just because it’s winter. Finally, fashion designers, who must also think about creating collections for customers who live on the other side of the world where maybe in a few months it will not be winter but summer, decided to reverse course drastically by offering thousands of nuances belonging to the rainbow. Colours that sometimes, in the most fierce fashionistas, intertwine like magic and immediately you can see fashionable sparks when you know matching together plain colours which, for the usual diktat, shouldn’t be mixed together like purple with orange or emerald green with electric blue. Too quirky? Absolutely not! The great Yves Saint Laurent introduced these daring combinations before the 1980s seducing eyes and hearts. “East Meets West” is the name of this F/W 201617 ad because this campaign encapsulates a spiritual look called by Vivienne Westwood “Buddhist Unisex”. The inspiration started looking at lots of spiritual places- including temples and one of the locations had this beautiful middle-eastern rug on the floor, which gave the main idea. The location was the perfect backdrop on every level. The colours, the theme, this feeling of exotic luxury in a London warehouse... In the cast boys and girls with a certain spirit and fun for creating a multi-cultural vision. Also portrayed is Vivienne Westwood with amazing wedge heels and the usual will to be transgressive. So small as not to contain even a smart phone. The new bags in miniature Valentino modeled the idea of dance card but now with studded effect and maybe you can also enter into a perfumed silk handkerchief. CHANEL Pop as a play of mirrors, a kaleidoscope that multiplies and refracts the colors of collections by adding almost a sense of movement typical of optical art, a kind of fashion moving. Dresses and accessories are characterized by vibrant colors, rhythmic geometries and a sense of pure visual delight in a blaze of colour combinations absolutely bond and radiant, with a remarkable visual impact, expressed by a truly contemporary, immediate and unforgettable design. Echoes of the Eighties resonate hither and thither along with musical notes and memories typical of psychedelic music: chic & choc stylistic solutions for a new language that seduces the eyes at first sight. EMPORIO ARMANI SALVATORE FERRAGAMO EMILIO PUCCI EMILIO PUCCI JEREMY SCOTT ANGLOMANIA VIVIENNE WESTWOOD BURBERRY ELISABETTA FRANCHI DOLCE & GABBANA DOLCE & GABBANA ROBERTO CAVALLI Check patterns, British underground allure with a neo-punk sound. Irreverent, unconventional. God Save the Queen or just “Queen”; this year marks 25 years since the death of legendary Freddy Mercury. Anglomania triumphs on the catwalk all over the world and it is more than a simple trend; it is a real way of being and living freely. To classy English patterns, typically Brit style and proposed also in multicolor version, are matched not only platform shoes and wedge heels, but in contrast with delicious floral booties to soften an outfit born to rock the world, especially that of fashion, distorting all its classic rules. Anglomania is thus a worldwide trend that starting from the United Kingdom is capable of radiating throughout the world, giving to those that are deeply wild and anarchic in their hearts, minds and, above all, in style, almost a uniform to stand out from others and identify kindred spirits. ETRO ELISABETTA FRANCHI Stampe check, allure british e underground dal sound neo punk. Irriverente, trasgressivo. For her debut at the helm of the maison Dior, the Italian designer Maria Grazia Chiuri let herself be carried away by enchanting inspiration to create her first ready to wear SS 2017 for Dior. A new kind of powerful woman opened Maria Grazia Chiuri’s first show for Dior: white jackets fastened with straps and cropped pants clasped beneath the knee evoking the outfits worn by female fencers, easily and sensually corresponding to the body’s movements. A unique approach to the subject of feminism, echoed in the messages printed on t-shirts. “We should all be feminists”, reads one – a nod to the title of an essay by the writer Chimamanda Adichie, whose work covers prejudices, notably dealing with the role of women in society. It’s an approach that recalls Christian Dior’s own when, in 1947, he drew inspiration from menswear to create the now-emblematic Bar suit, and which Maria Grazia Chiuri revisits with a contemporary take: the white jacket, which accentuates the narrowness of the waist and volume of the hips, is worn over a white t-shirt, while the black skirt is reinvented in tulle to give a peek at the knitted lingerie beneath. Inspired by the House’s heritage, the Artistic Director was also intrigued by the founding couturier’s superstitious nature, his belief in signs and omens and his closeness to clairvoyants. His lucky charms such as the star, the heart and the four-leaf clover are sprinkled here and there, cosmic and horoscope elements are embroidered in silver on midnight blue tulle, while tarot symbols were reinterpreted in the colorful embroideries of the evening dresses that closed the show. After her success at Milan Design Week 2016, this evening at 07:00 p.m. , Marella Ferrera will open her atelier-museum dedicated to MFLAB, MFLAB is a temporary show/shop developed with the designer Paolo Gagliardi, who hosts Art Design’s collections for Paola Lenti – a refined and essential company from Milan that is, always oriented to research and experimentation – and the collection “Trame Mediterranee” for the Sicilian company Lithea, which offers a complete vision of the signs of the Mediterranean “written on the stones”. A space to project inner and outdoor ambient and create a bespoke atmosphere... a laboratory where fashion, design and art are twisted. This is the inspirational mood of the new exhibition at MF Museum & Fashion titled “Appunti di Viaggio in Sicilia”. It is like imagining a picturesque journey to discover the beauty of our land that comes to life in unique “design work”: hand-embroidered rugs that recall ancient timeless knowledge and the light contained in the floors of the rich Sicilian dwellings; tables in which stone, carved like rocks taken from the sea, the lava, molten glass, and hand-painted decorations of classic tradition of Caltagirone have a new flavor. A sensory journey, full of passion and love for Sicily, transcribed on pages of notes he that lives within the walls of this ancentancient Museum of Catania, ; tracing all the stages are essential to this extraordinary Union devised by Marella Ferrera and Paola Lenti: a mind contaminated by the past and face facing the future with the enthusiasm of an ever-evolving journey. Romantic femininity and Blumarine’s decorative DNA is exalted by sophisticated details characterizing the “ Made in Italy couture” items: covers and quilts in satin and percale, sheets with embroidered tulle and macramé appliqués, à-jour edgings, floral patterns, lace effect and jacquard prints are proposed in soft shades with touches of bright colours. Watercolor prints remind us of settings in the early 1900’. Swarovski crystals light up the whole collection. Towelling complements in solid colors are enriched with embroidery, ruffles and macramé trim. Linen tablecloths, created in both classic and innovative shades, complete the proposals for homeware.
