The LOGISTICS DIVISION
The LOGISTICS DIVISION 2 3 OUR ORGANISATION Integrated distribution and logistics In a context of market globalisation and ever increasing competition, many companies have chosen to outsource logistics and movement support activities so that they can concentrate on their core business and significantly reduce their warehouse management costs. On the basis of its experience in the organised distribution sector, BRT Corriere Espresso has set up its own logistical services division which offers certified and customised outsourcing to any company which wishes to have a logistics contact point with its own efficient and integrated distribution network. Quality of the BRT organisation BRT Corriere Espresso has a comprehensive and versatile structure and is capable of providing a fast, reliable and secure distribution service in Italy, Europe and the whole world, with no limits to weight, volume or number of parcels per shipment. Its wide range of services, the flexibility of its shipment system, the computerised management of all transport stages, the integration between operating and computing systems, its real-time information systems, and its customer service system organised at branch level make BRT Corriere Espresso the ideal partner of its own logistics division. The organisational reception, internal handling, assembly and shipment preparation processes are supervised by a specialist software package called GEODE. Transparency and security The efficiency levels in the work cycle and respect for schedules and agreed timeframes are documented and can always be monitored on-line. Using IT tools in real time, which can be fully customised, our customers can check the levels of undelivered goods, the progress of the processing and shipment of orders, give new operating instructions and ensure that all the shipments are carried out and delivered according to the agreed timeframes and methods. Our large, modern facilities are equipped with the most appropriate antirobbery, anti-intrusion and fire prevention systems. Professionalism and skills The specialists in our logistics division, who have been working in the industry for many years, are at our customers’ disposal for analysing every step of the outsourcing process. Our commercial proposals are drawn up only after having carefully checked each customer’s requirements and objectives. 6 7 INTEGRATED DISTRIBUTION AND LOGISTICS Advantages of integrated distribution and logistics A special characteristic of our logistics division is the complete integration with its own distribution structure. The logistics warehouses are adjacent to the main BRT sorting centres to provide extremely short acceptance, processing and dispatch times aimed at forwarding shipments immediately. The range of main and additional services provided by BRT Corriere Espresso is at the disposal of every customer in the logistics division simply and independently. All the information required on the successful arrival of shipments can be consulted online. In the distribution area, our IT system allows customers to connect themselves independently to: ∆ Send the details of outward shipments ∆ Track and trace shipments ∆ Obtain information on possible undelivered goods so as to intervene quickly if delivery is impossible ∆ Receive information on cash-on-delivery payments so as to check payment situations and bank balances ∆ Check data concerning invoiced shipments so as to monitor the costs of shipments delivered analytically and automatically. 8 9 SERVICES OFFERED 1.
