Il castello di Torre Alfina che, con le sue imponenti torri merlate di
pietra scura, domina l’omonimo borgo (dal 2007 uno dei Borghi più Belli
d’Italia), situato in posizione panoramica a 620mt slm in quella parte di
Tuscia che si spinge verso Nord tra l’Umbria e la Toscana. La sua storia
unica e millenaria inizia nel periodo Longobardo con l’edificazione della
prima torre di avvistamento (VIII sec.) per poi diventare un’imponente
castello medioevale (XIII sec.), trasformarsi in dimora rinascimentale
(XVI sec.) e diventare, grazie ai lavori di restauro del 1800, la magnifica
residenza attuale.
The Castle,
location & history
The Castle of Torre Alfina , with its imposing embattled towers made
with dark stone, dominates the village, from which it takes its name
(from 2007 it has been declared one of the most beautiful historical
villages in Italy), located at panoramic position at 620mt above sea
level, in the part of Tuscia which goes to the north, between Umbria and
Tuscany. Its unique and long history, starts in the Longobard period,
with the building of the first watch tower in the 8th century. It then
became an imposing medieval castle in the 13th century. Transformed
into a Renaissance residence in the 16th century, it then become,
thanks to the restoration work in 1800, the magnificent residence you
see today.

Il castello è suolo comunale, per questo, è possibile celebrare il rito civile legale del tuo matrimonio alla presenza del Sindaco o di un suo delegato all’interno della struttura. Per chi volesse invece celebrare il rito classico religioso, ai piedi del maniero è collocata la graziosa chiesa parrocchiale.
THE CIVIL AND RELIGIOUS CEREMONIES (Church only steps away)
The castle is on Town Hall land, for this reason, you can celebrate your wedding with a legal civil ceremony attended by the Mayor or his delegate within the Castle walls. For those who wish to celebrate the traditional religious ceremony, at the foot of the castle, there is a lovely church.
