Approfondimento delle conoscenze nel campo della
linguistica diacronica di area e della filologia, con particolare
riferimento alla tradizione dei testi e alla loro edizione e
interpretazione, e alla dimensione storica in cui essi sono stati
generati e trasmessi.
Further study of the medieval languages from a diachronic
perspective and of the theory of textual criticism, with special
reference to the tradition, edition and interpretation of texts,
as well as to the historical context in which they were
produced and transmitted.
Autori e scribi nel medioevo germanico
Il corso sarà incentrato sull'analisi di opere del medioevo
inglese e tedesco del periodo antico e medio. I testi, che
saranno messi in relazione con l’ambiente letterario e storicoculturale che li ha prodotti, offriranno il punto di partenza per
l’ampliamento delle conoscenze relative alla trasmissione
testuale (testi, paratesti, grafie, miniature) e alla linguistica
diacronica. Gli studenti impareranno, inoltre, a usare i
principali strumenti bibliografici per effettuare ricerche
individuali e a individuare le caratteristiche principali dei vari
generi letterari.
Sono previste attività seminariali, presentazioni di ricerche
individuali degli studenti,visite in biblioteca.

Authors and scribes in medieval England and Germany
The course will focus on the analysis of medieval English and
German texts which will be the starting point for outlining the
main characteristics of the literary and cultural milieu in
which they were produced and for widening the students’
knowledge in the field of diachronic linguistics and textual
tradition. Students will learn how to use the principle
bibliographical instruments for carrying out individual
researches and to set a text within its literary genre.
Seminars, with students’ presentations of individual
researches, will be held.
