Perché conviene utilizzare il N.D.V. XiV:
• Garantisce un tempo di permanenza in vena superiore ai cateteri standard e di
sicurezza.
• Riduce il numero delle connessioni da eseguire e i relativi rischi associati,
in quanto dispone di prolunga ed accessori preassemblati, con un consistente
risparmio di tempo da parte dell’operatore sanitario.
• Dispone del sistema di sicurezza contro le punture accidentali e del sistema

Procedura d’uso - How To Use Procedure
1 Verificare che la clamp sia aperta.
Verify clamp is open.
2 Verificare che il raccordo con il filtro ed il raccordo needle-less siano correttamente connessi.
Verify either joint with filter and joint with valve
are correctly connected.
3/4/5 Afferrare il Catetere I.V. a seconda della
propria preferenza.
Handle the device with favourite hand positioning.

6 a Inserire l’ago in vena e controllare che il
sangue refluisca nella camera di visualizzazione. Introdurre il dispositivo ulteriormente di 2-3
mm nel vaso al fine di garantire che la punta del
catetere sia all’interno della vena.
Insert the needle into the vein and check blood
flows into the flashback chamber. Then further
introduce the device about 2-3 mm in the vessel
in order to guarantee catheter tip is placed in the vein.
6 b Avanzare la cannula nella vena e, simultaneamente, estrarre l’ago utilizzando la tecnica preferita: a una mano o a due mani. Se si è
operato correttamente, il sangue deve riempire
la prolunga.
Advance cannula into the vein and, concurrently,
extract the needle adopting favourite technique:
one hand or two hands. If procedure has been
correct, blood would full fill the tubing.
7/8 Estrarre l’ago, mantenendolo il più possibile allineato col corpo del catetere, sino alla
completa attivazione del sistema di sicurezza,
facendo attenzione a:
- non reinserirlo nel catetere anche se parzialmente estratto;
- non distaccare preventivamente il dispositivo
di sicurezza dal corpo del catetere.

Extract the needle, keeping it as much as aligned
with catheter hub, until the complete passive safety system activates, being careful in:
- do not reinsert it in the catheter even if partially extracted.
- do not detach the needle either touching or holding the safety protective box.
8/9 Rimuovere l’ago veicolante utilizzando la
tecnica a due mani dal corpo catetere ed eliminarlo immediatamente in apposito contenitore
per lo smaltimento in sicurezza di aghi ed oggetti taglienti. Applicare il cerotto per assicurare
il catetere alla cute del paziente.
Remove the needle with two hands from the
catheter hub and dispose it immediately into a
nearby sharps container.
Apply the dressing to secure the catheter to the skin.

10 Chiudere la clamp.
Close the clamp.
11 Rimuovere il tappo ed il raccordo sfiato aria,
introducendo quest’ultimo in apposito contenitore rigido atto allo smaltimento in sicurezza di aghi
ed oggetti taglienti.
Remove the cap and the joint with filter, disposing
the latter into sharps container.

12 Collegare il dispositivo per l’infusione, precedentemente riempito, al raccordo ad Y.
Connect the infusion device, previously fulfilled, with the Y
connection.

13 Aprire la clamp bianca ed iniziare l’infusione
USO POSTICIPATO.
Open ther clamp and begin with the infusion
POSTPONED USE.
14 Collegare al raccordo a Y una siringa riempita con circa 5
ml di soluzione fisiologica.
Connect to Y connection a syringe fulfilled with about 5 ml of
physiologic solution.
15 Aprire la clamp.

Open the clamp.
16 Pulire il dispositivo completamente dal sangue mediante
iniezione eseguita con tecnica pulsata o discontinua.
Clean the device from blood completely with a pulsating or
discontinous injection technique.
17 Chiudere la clamp mantenendo la pressione nella siringa,
poi disconnettere quest’ultima.

Close the clamp maintaining pressure in the syringe, then disconnect it.

18 Chiudere il raccordo ad Y con l’apposito tappo Luer Lock
in dotazione o utilizzare, in alternativa, un altro tappo con
connessione L/Lock o una valvola needle-less.
Close the Y connection with L/L cap provided or, alternatively
another cap with Luer Lock connection or needle-less valve.
19 Fissare la prolunga.
Fix the extension tubing.
