CAMPIONATO DEL MONDO CROSS:
PHILIPPAERTS CHIUDE LA STAGIONE IN TERZA
POSIZIONE MENTRE PAULIN CONQUISTA IL
SECONDO PODIO CONSECUTIVO
Il Grand Prix d’Italia a Fermo è stato l’ultimo dei quindici round del
Campionato del Mondo Motocross.
David Philippaerts, nonostante alcune difficoltà in quella che per
lui era la gara di casa, è riuscito a conquistare il sesto posto finale
e a confermare la terza posizione nella classifica finale della MX1.
22.500 persone si sono presentate a questo GP di Italia e hanno
scalato la collina di fronte al circuito per trovare il punto più
favorevole per guardare la gara che si è svolta su un tracciato
caratterizzato da una struttura tipicamente italiana: veloce, dura,
con moltissimi salti. Il pilota del Team Yamaha Monster Energy
Motocross il sabato ha ottenuto la sua quarta pole-position della
stagione, ma nella prima manche un errore al primo giro lo ha fatto
slittare di qualche posizione portandolo a correre per le basse
posizioni della top-ten e a terminare settimo. Nella seconda
manche, un incidente che ha leggermente compromesso il
ginocchio, ha rallentato la corsa dell’italiano che ha avuto bisogno
di alcuni giri per riassestarsi e per riguadagnare due posizioni e
chiudere infine al sesto posto.
Il Campione del Mondo MX1-2008 ha saputo durante il weekend
che rappresenterà il proprio paese alla 64a edizione del Motocross
delle Nazioni dopo l’accordo raggiunto tra la Federazione Italiana
FMI e le parti coinvolte.
Nella MX2 Gautier Paulin ha terminato la stagione 2010 con una
seconda posizione nella classifica generale di giornata. La
medaglia di bronzo per il ventenne francese significa il secondo
podio consecutivo e allo stesso tempo il decimo posto nella
classifica del Campionato del Mondo, pur avendo mancato i primi
quattro round per infortunio. Il suo punteggio nella seconda metà
della stagione, soprattutto negli ultimi otto incontri, lo avrebbe
sicuramente portato virtualmente al terzo posto di categoria.
CAMPIONATO EUROPEO ENDURO:
ALESSIO PAOLI È VICE CAMPIONE EUROPEO
Domino, con il Team Honda-HM-Zanardo e Alessio Paoli, ha
conquistato il titolo di vice campione europeo enduro della classe
Senior E3 nella quarta ed ultima prova di “tre giorni” disputata
venerdì 10, sabato 11 e domenica 12 settembre a Oliveira Do
Hospital.
Una gara particolarmente dura ed impegnativa per i 120 piloti al
via caratterizzata da un percorso ricco di pietraie, prove speciali
impegnative
e
da
un
caldo
a
dir
poco
torrido.
Va sottolineato che Paoli è riuscito a portare a termine la gara
malgrado una costola incrinata e lo strappo muscolare all'addome
cadendo due settimane fa nella prova di Campionato Italiano
Under 23 alla quale aveva partecipato per allenarsi meglio in vista
della gara conclusiva del Campionato Europeo.
Assistito dalla Dottoressa Lorena Sangiorgi dello staff medico FMI
che gli ha somministrato degli antidolorifici, Paoli venerdì e sabato
ha chiuso in seconda posizione conquistando così anche il
secondo gradino del podio finale della propria classe.
“Sono davvero felice del risultato ottenuto perché dalla terza
posizione che occupavo in classifica prima di questa gara alla fine
ho chiuso al secondo posto. Ce lo messa tutta ma nelle condizioni
in cui ho corso sarebbe stato impossibile pensare di vincere il
titolo. Ringrazio la FMI per avermi dato la possibilità di disputare
questa gara in Maglia Azzurra” - Alessio Paoli ha raccontato.
TRIAL DELLE NAZIONI:
L’ITALIA CHIUDE TERZA
La squadra italiana chiude con un grande risultato l’edizione 2010
del Trial delle Nazioni, corso questo fine settimana a Myslenice, in
Polonia. Chiamati a riconfermare il terzo posto conquistato nel
2009 a Boario, Fabio Lenzi, Daniele Maurino, Matteo
Grattarola, Luca Cotone (piloti Domino) e Iolitta, hanno risposto
al meglio aggiudicandosi, con ampio margine, il terzo posto e la
medaglia di bronzo alle spalle di Spagna ed Inghilterra.
Si è trattato di una gara dura, su un terreno pesante ed insidioso,
duramente condizionato dai nubifragi dei giorni precedenti, ma
condotta con determinazione e grande spirito di squadra contro gli
avversari di sempre, ancora più agguerriti e desiderosi di riscatto,
e la sfortuna, che ha cercato di frenare la corsa degli azzurri verso
il podio.
Ciononostante il team italiano ha saputo rimanere coeso
svolgendo un ottimo lavoro di squadra.
Al cambio cartellino del primo giro gli azzurri si presentavano con
una sola lunghezza di vantaggio sui francesi, che anche in virtù
dell’ordine di partenza sembravano poter condizionare
negativamente la gara dei nostri, ma l’Italia rispondeva nella
seconda tornata con un netto recupero, che fugava ogni dubbio su
quale fosse la squadra destinata a salire sul prestigioso podio del
Mondiale a Squadre.

CROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP:
PHILIPPAERTS FINISHES THE SEASON THIRD WHILE
PAULIN CONQUERES THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE
PODIUM
The Grand Prix of Italy at Fermo represented the final round of
fifteen in the FIM Motocross World Championship.
Despite David Philippaerts had a tricky time at his home event,
he still battled to earn sixth overall and confirm third position in the
MX1 class for 2010.
22,500 people came to Fermo and scrambled up the steep hill to
find a vantage point on a track that was typically Italian with its
quick, relentless, hard-pack layout with many jumps. The rider of
Yamaha Monster Energy Team took his fourth pole position of
the season on Saturday and started the first race in the top four
before a hasty mistake on the first lap caused him to lose some
positions and have to fight back from the lower top ten. He
managed seventh by the chequered flag. The second race was
interrupted by an incident when the 25 year old hit one of the few
churned and hard ruts on the course and twisted his knee.
Philippaerts needed a few laps to readjust his style and then
fought bravely through the pain to regain two positions to sixth.
The 2008 MX1 World Champion found out over the weekend that
he will in fact be representing his country at the 64th Motocross of
Nations in the wake of a compromise reached with the Italian
Federation FMI and the parties involved.
In MX2 class Gautier Paulin finishes his 2010 sporting season
with a second position in the race classification. His silverware
marked the second podium ceremony in succession for the French
20 year old who rose to tenth in the world championship standings
despite missing the first four rounds. His scores in the second half
of the season, especially the final eight meetings would have
surely drawn him up to third in the category.
ENDURO EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP:
ALESSIO PAOLI IS VICE-EUROPEAN CHAMPION
In the fourth and last test of “Three Days”, raced on Friday 10,
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 in Oliveira do Hospital, in Portugal,
Domino, with Honda-HM-Zanardo Team and Alessio Paoli, has
conquered the title of vice-European champions of E3 Enduro
Senior class.
For the 120 riders, that has been a strong competition,
characterized by a track rich in stones, binding special tests and
an intense heat.
Paoli has succeeded in completing the competition despite a
cracked rib and an abdomen muscle strain, because of an
accident happed two weeks ago during the test of Under 23 Italian
Championship: a competition he raced to train for the last
competition of the European Championship.
Assisted by Doctor Lorena Sangiorgi, of the FMI medical staff, he
has been sedated. On Friday and on Saturday has finished
second, conquering the second step of the final podium of his
class.
“I’m really happy for the results I have conquered: before this last
race I was third in the classification but now I have succeed in
conquering the second position. I’ve done my best and I know it
was very hard to win the title. I would say thank you to FMI, for
giving me the possibility to race this competition with the BlueSweater” – the words of Alessio Paoli.
TRIAL OF NATIONS:
ITALY FINISHES THIRD
This weekend the Italian Team has raced the 2010 Trial of Nations
in the city of Myslenice, in Poland, finishing with a great result.
Determinate to regain and improve the third place conquered in
2009 at Boario, Fabio Lenzi, Daniel Maurino, Matteo Grattarola,
Luca Cotone (Domino’s rider) and Iolitta, have gave their best
awarding the third place and the bronze medal behind Spain and
England.
It was a strong competition, on a hard and insidious ground,
harshly conditioned by the cloud-burst of the days before, but
raced with determination and a great team spirit against the
adversaries, even more trained, and the adversity, that has tried to
stop the run of the Italians to the podium.
Nonetheless the Italian Team has known how to remain integrated
doing a good team job.
After the first turn the Blue Team was in front of the French one of
only one point but after the second race Italy has recovered time
and conquered the third step of the podium.
