The Anxiety of Influence 1973 The Western Canon 1994 Anatomy of Influence 2011 T.S. ELIOT Tradition and the individual talent HAROLD BLOOM, L'angoscia dell'influenza • modello agonistico di produzione del testo • ansia di distinguersi dal modello • It [tradition] involves, in the first place, the historical sense, which we may call nearly indispensable to anyone who would continue to be a poet; and the historical sense involves a perception, not only of the pastness of the past, but of its presence; the historical sense compels a man to write not merely with his own generation in his bones, but with a feeling that the whole of the literature of Europe from Homer and within it the whole of the literature of his own country has a simultaneous existence and composes a simultaneous order. 2) SISTEMI E STILI DI CITAZIONE • Sistemi: set of rules • a means of standardizing the format of research • Importance (according to the main view): • Format, promote and facilitate scholarly discourse and the production of knowledge • Observe and certify intellectual labour and legal ownership A quali domande rispondono gli stili; che cosa regolano • Dove collocare la citazione • Cosa citare (tipologia di fonti) • Come citare (format, editing) • DOVE • In text citations • Reference lists Direct quotation Paraphrasing COSA- TIPOLOGIA DI FONTI Periodicals Non periodicals Non print sources Academic journals and reviews Books Website and blogs Newspaper Anthologies Other electronic resources - ebooks Magazines Theses and dissertation Art, film, images E per ciascuna: Autore/Curatore/Traduttore; Titolo; Editore (Nome e luogo); data di pubblicazione; pag. o collocazione COME • Stili formattazione della citazione • APA • Look at WORD ---- Office • Gestore citazioni • MLA • CHICAGO TURABIAN • Visualizza casella degli strumenti • HARVARD • Citazioni APA American Psychological Association • Edizioni 1929, 1952, 1974, 1983, 1994, 2009 "to assist reading comprehension in the social and behavioral sciences, for clarity of communication and for word choice that best reduces bias in language" MLA Modern Language Association 1985, 1998, 2008 the standard guide for graduate students, scholars, and professional writers." Turabian was our trusted guide and mentor, the absolute authority, the one who knew all there was to know about the strange world of proper term papers. … A Manual for Writers was one of the first books we bought in college and it was one of the only books we kept with us through all four years and probably beyond. To write a term paper without a well-worn copy of Turabian handy was unthinkable. Our writing on term papers might be weak, our research haphazard, our insights sophomoric, but, thanks to Kate L. Turabian, our footnotes could always be absolutely flawless. LAW REPORTS The primary series of reports published by the ICLR is The Law Reports, which the Council maintains are "'the most authoritative reports' and should always be 'cited in preference where there is a choice'."[7] This series is divided into four main sub-series: • Law Reports, Appeal Cases, covering decisions of the House of Lords (and, since 2005, the Supreme Court), the Privy Council and the Court of Appeal – started in 1866 as the Law Reports, English & Irish Appeals, renamed in 1875 and redesigned in 1891; • Law Reports, Chancery Division, covering decisions of the Chancery Division of the High Court – started in 1865 as the Law Reports, Chancery Appeal Cases, renamed in 1875 and redesigned in 1890; • Law Reports, Family Division, covering decisions of the Family Division of the High Court – started in 1865 as the Law Reports, Probate & Divorce Cases, renamed Law Reports, Probate, Divorce & Admiralty Division in 1875, renamed Law Reports, Probate in 1891 and renamed in 1972; • Law Reports, Queen's Bench, covering decision of the Queen's Bench Division of the High Court – started in 1865, renamed Law Reports, Queen's Bench Division in 1875, renamed in 1891, renamed Law Reports, King's Bench in 1901 and renamed in 1952. The ICLR also has a set of criteria for law reporting, originally proposed by Nathaniel Lindley (who later became Master of the Rolls and subsequently a Lord of Appeal), which said that care should be taken to exclude from the reports those cases that passed without discussion and were valueless as precedents, and those that were substantially repetitions of earlier reports to which was added the following list of valuable (and thus worthy of reporting) categories: All cases which introduce, or appear to introduce, a new principle or a new rule. All cases which materially modify an existing principle or rule. All cases which settle, or materially tend to settle, a question upon which the law is doubtful. All cases which for any reason are peculiarly instructive. USA SUPREME COURT Brown v.
