Travelling to/from Bologna
By air
Guglielmo Marconi International Airport, located at approximately 15 minutes by bus from the
city centre, connects Bologna to the main Italian and European airports.
From the airport, you can reach the city centre by:

Bus: Aerobus-BLQ shuttle bus is operated by the local public transport service, TPER. As of
16 December 2015, tickets costs €6,00 for a one-way ride from/to the airport, and can be
purchased on board.

By train
Bologna Centrale railway station is the main train station of the city. It is located in the city centre,
and is connected to the high-speed railway network.

By car
Motorway: routes A1, A13 and A14. Please note that most Italian motorways are toll roads – you
need to collect a ticket at the entrance gate and present it at the exit gate so your fare can be

Address: Palazzo Poggi, Via Zamboni 33 (No cloakroom or left luggage facilities available at the venue)
From Bologna Centrale railway station: bus 32 “Circolare”. Get off at “Porta San Donato” stop in Viale
Filopanti (approx. 6 minutes). From there, walk back until Piazza di Porta San Donato (first crossroad), then
turn left and go straight ahead in Via Zamboni for about 350 meters; the entrance to Palazzo Poggi is on the
left side of the road.
Other buses that stop nearby are:


“Porta San Donato” stop in Via Irnerio: buses 20, 28, 36, 37, 89, 93, 94, 99. From the bus stop,
walk until the end of the portico, then turn right in Via Zamboni and go straight ahead for about 300
meters; the entrance to Palazzo Poggi is on the left side of the road.
“Teatro Comunale” stop in via Zamboni: bus C. From the bus stop, go straight ahead in Via
Zamboni; the entrance to Palazzo Poggi is on the right side of the road.

Address: Polo didattico Murri, S.Orsola-Malpighi Hospital, Via Massarenti 9 or Viale Ercolani 4
From Bologna Centrale railway station: bus 32 “Circolare”. Get off at “Porta San Vitale” stop in Viale
Ercolani (after the crossroad with Via Massarenti). From there, cross the street at the pedestrian traffic light
near the gas station and enter the hospital area, then turn left in the first road. Polo Murri is the orange
building on the right side of the green area.
Other buses that stop nearby are:


“Porta Mazzini” stop in Viale Ercolani or Via Mazzini: buses 14 (Mon-Fri only), 19, 25 (Mon-Fri
only), 27, 33. From the bus stop, walk straight on Viale Ercolani for about 350-400 metres. Turn right
to enter the hospital area, then turn left in the first side road. Polo Murri is the orange building on the
right side of the green area.
“Ospedale Sant’Orsola” stop in Via Massarenti: buses 14, 25, 36, 60, 94, T1 (Sat/Sun only).
From the bus stop, walk back until you reach the entrance gate to the hospital area (Via Massarenti
9). Enter the hospital area and turn right, then turn left in the first road and right again on the main
hospital road. Walk straight ahead for about 100 metres, then turn right in the last side road before
the exit of the hospital area. Polo Murri is the orange building on the right side of the green area.
If you enter the hospital area from other access gates, follow directions for building 25, which is just next to
Polo Murri.
