What is more, the children can compete
in races on the South Tyrol province’s Ski
Club Circuit. The winners qualify for the
national finals of the Youth Grand Prix.
This year our Ski School won first prize at

This year the Val Gardena will once
again be the setting for two Ski World Cup
Races, which will take place in December. The decision was taken in Portorosz,
Slovenia, at the spring Congress of the
Italian Ski Federation (FIS). Members of
the Selva Ski School will be helping make
sure that the event is a success.
On the 14th and 15th December,
2007, the Val Gardena will play host to
around 330 journalist from all over the
world, who will be commentating on the
two exciting contests: the Downhill Classic, and the spectacular Super G.
Both races will be broadcast by around
30 TV companies and an estimated 300
million viewers will follow the races on
the small screen.
Around 400 volunteers, amongst them
many ski instructors from the Selva Ski
School, work with the Organising Committee to ensure a race that is safe and
problem free. The President of the Organising Committee, Stefania Demetz, confirms that 40 years of tradition have been
