Flavia Trettel Pagina 2 ATTIVITA’ SCIENTIFICA L’attività di ricerca riguarda principalmente lo studio del ruolo delle chemochine nel sistema nervoso centrale, con particolare riguardo alla capacità di mediare la comunicazione cellulare tra neuroni e cellule gliali (astrociti e microglia), di determinare effetti neuro protettivi in condizioni patologiche, e di modulare la neurotrasmissione e i fenomeni di plasticità sinaptica. Un altro filone di ricerca riguarda lo studio dei meccanismi molecolari e cellulari coinvolti nella sclerosi laterale amiotrofica e nell’epilessia umana. L’attività di ricerca si svolge presso il laboratorio di Neurofisiologia cellulare e molecolare e di Neuro immunologia, situato presso il Dipartimento di Fisiologia e Farmacologia,Università sapienza, Piazzale Aldo Moro5.
