Safety weekends with the Alpine guides
The uphill lifts close for the end of season on 6th April 2014. After this date however is the best
period to enjoy the Dolomites landscape – this thanks to alpine skiing opportunities. There will be
abundant snow until Easter this year and a great number of routes are available between mountain
passes and leading to amazing peaks from where you enjoy wonderful panoramic views and great
downhill descents.

Safety weekends: the Val Gardena Alpine Guide School offers alpine ski excursions of an average
difficulty, ski tours, and descents through fresh snow or ‘firn’ terrain. During the excursions, instruction
is given on how to use Avalanche Victim Search equipment correctly and how to interpret snow
conditions and the risk of avalanche.
Depending on the weather conditions departure will be between 7.00 and 8.00 in the morning, and the
destinations will be amongst the most beautiful areas of Val Gardena, the Sassolungo and Sella Groups
and the Puez-Odle.National Park.
The safety weekends will be on 5/6 April, 12/13 April, and 18/19 April 2014.
Cost: €200,00 per person inclusive of equipment hire; €170,00 per person without equipment hire.
Participants: minimum 4 persons and maximum 7 persons for one alpine guide.

Val Gardena, 17 Marzo 2014 – In Val Gardena il 6 aprile chiuderanno gli impianti di risalita e inizierà il
miglior periodo per godersi il paesaggio delle Dolomiti con lo sci alpinismo.
La neve sarà garantita e in ottime condizioni fino a Pasqua e a disposizione di tutti gli appassionati ci
saranno un gran numero di percorsi tra forcelle e cime, da affrontare sempre accompagnati dalle Guide
Alpine che organizzano emozionanti tour tra pendii incontaminati e paesaggi dolomitici.

Un’altra esperienza davvero suggestiva, possibile solo in primavera, è costituita dalle discese sul firn. Il firn
è un solido strato di neve compatta che si forma grazie all’escursione termica, tipica di questa stagione,
passando dalle calde giornate di sole alle notti ancora fredde.
Alzandosi presto al mattino si può sciare su questo strato di neve dura quasi galleggiando, sia in pista sia
fra gli alberi. Il tutto svanisce quando si alza la temperatura e si affonda nuovamente nella neve.
I Safety week-ends, organizzati dalle Scuole delle Guide Alpine della Val Gardena, offrono escursioni di sci
alpinismo di media difficoltà, ski-tour e discese in neve fresca o sul “firn”. Durante le escursioni si impara
l'uso corretto delle attrezzature LVS e la conoscenza della situazione neve e delle slavine.
A seconda delle condizioni meteo si parte tra le 7.00 e le 8.00 del mattino, in direzione delle più belle zone
della Val Gardena, sotto il Gruppo del Sassolungo, del Sella e nel Parco Naturale Puez-Odle.
I Safety week-ends si svolgeranno il 5/6 aprile, il 12/13 aprile e il 18/19 aprile 2014.
Il costo è di €200,00 a persona, incluso noleggio attrezzatura; €170,00 senza attrezzatura. Partecipanti:

Am 6. April schließt der Liftebetrieb in Gröden und dann beginnt die beste Zeit die fantastische
Berglandschaft der Dolomiten mit Tourenskiern zu erkunden zumal die Schneeverhältnisse bis Ostern
ausgezeichnet sind. Zur Auswahl stehen eine Vielzahl an Touren im Langkofelgebiet, im Naturpark PuezGeisler und am Sellastock, mit ihren Scharten und Gipfeln. Nach einer einmaligen Aussicht folgt eine
wohlverdiente Genuss-Skiabfahrt.
Unternehmen Sie aus Sicherheitsgründen die Touren immer in Begleitung eines Bergführers!
Safety weekends: die Alpinschulen bieten mittelschwere Skitouren mit Kurscharakter an. Während der
Tour wird auf skitechnischen Problemen im Aufstieg (z.B. Spitzkehren) und in der Abfahrt (Firn oder
Tiefschnee) eingegangen. Ebenso wird der richtige Umgang mit einem LVS-Gerät gelehrt und es werden
auch einige Informationen über Schneekunde gegeben.
Gestartet wird zwischen 7:00 und 8:00 Uhr morgens, je nach Wetterlage, in Richtung der schönsten
Gebiete Grödens, rund um die Langkofelgruppe, zur Sellagruppe und in den Naturpark Puez-Geisler.
Die Safety weekends warden an drei Wochendenden ausgetagen und zwar am 5.-6. April, 12.-13. April und
18.-19. April 2014.
Der Teilnahmepreis beträgt €200,00 pro Teilnehmer inklusive der Ausrüstung (Ski, Skischuhe, Fellen, LVSGerät, Schaufel, Sonde, Rucksack) und €170,00 mit eigener Ausrüstung.
