Sumitomo Electric Starts Selling Thunderbolt Cables at Amazon Online Store
Sumitomo Electric Industries, Ltd. started selling its Thunderbolt cables at Amazon.co.jp, one of the world's major
online stores, on April 13. The cable comes in lengths of 0.5 m, 1.0 m, 2.0 m and 3.0 m to best serve customers’ needs.
Thunderbolt is a new high-speed PC connection technology developed by Intel Corporation. It provides 10 Gbps data
transmission and supports PCI Express and DisplayPort interfaces with its dual-protocol solution. Based on Intel’s
technical specifications, Sumitomo Electric developed Thunderbolt electrical cables by combining its advanced cable
technology with the high-speed transmission technology. The cables have already been on sale, but the company has
recently decided to add the sales outlet at Amazon.co.jp.
