Claudia Scorolli is a Senior Research Fellow. She obtained her PhD in Philosophy of Language,
Linguistics and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Bologna with a dissertation on the role of both
sensory-motor and linguistic-social experience on language comprehension.
Her research focuses on grounding of language in sensorimotor processes, as well as on language
as a tool which modifies human's way to interact with the world. Her current interests focus also on
social affordances - particularly on interactive contexts modulating their activation - and on cultural
differences influencing cognitive processes. Her recent work pays particular attention to the
interface between clinical psychology and cognitive neurosciences.
She uses behavioral paradigms (e.g., RTs measurements), kinematic methods (e.g., reach-tograsp movement analysis), electrophysiological techniques (EEG), subjective-qualitative methods
(e.g., questionnaires) and occasionally brain stimulation (TMS) and non-invasive brain imaging (fMRI)
techniques.
