Indications
Nanocream® is a novel emulsifier indicated for fluid O/W emulsions with
particularly low particle size of the droplets (100-300 ηm). It works to create
spontaneously nano-sized droplets of the dispersed phase in emulsions. When oils
are added, simulating a cosmetic product formulation, small sized droplets are
obtained. Nanoemulsions made using Nanocream® show extraordinary stability,
sharply defined particle size distributions, with low (pump sprayable) viscosities. It
easily vehicles several functional cosmetic ingredients
Formulation
development
Nanocream® requires low temperatures during manufacturing process:
Weight in a becker NANOCREAM at room temperature. Add the oily phase (oils,
esters, liposoluble ingredients etc…). Mix with a blade impeller (150-250 rpm) for
10-12 minutes to incorporate all the components as much as possible. Thus, be sure
to obtain an uniform and completely homogeneous phase. This represents an
important step of the whole procedure.
Start heating until Nanocream® and oils form an homogeneous clear phase. Heat
25-30% (w/w) of water available and Nanocream® - OIL phase at the same
temperature. Add very slowly small increments of water phase into the oily phase
until a viscous lipogel is obtained. The formation of bluish coloration (Tindall
colour) is typical of the nano particle size droplets and must be obtained in this step.
Mix at least for 5 minutes again. Prepare the remaining water phase, dissolving all
the components of the formula (preservatives, humectants, rheological additives…).
All ingredients must be completely solubilized.
Add remaining water phase, continue stirring for 5-6 minutes. Pay attention that
temperature is the same for both phases.
Suggested dosage
Between 2 - 10% depending on the oily phase incorporated into the oil phase
The product is cold sensitive. Before using, be aware of conditioning at R.T.
Storage
Keep product away from light. Store in an air-tight container
