«I... when I was a child I had all my thoughts in my belly:
they were fish, swimming and tickling me
and sometimes even made me
​​ angry,
so, I would jump hard and all the fish would get a headache…»
Listening to the thoughts of the belly: the freest, like fish that swim and chase each other, from one
thought to another and to another again. Many small stories of dark fears, subtle shame, curious
questions, silence, laughter, games… stories of life, lived and imagined, through the eyes of a child.
On stage, a brother and a sister give shape, with words and moving bodies, to their creative and
imaginative way of meeting reality and every day’s life, revealing fears, needs and desires that belong
not only to children but to the deepest part of us all. A knowledge that goes through emotion, the
subtle physical memory of things, listening to our senses and to our heart, affectivity as the foundation
of growth and of life itself.
The play is the result of a research that investigates a simple and effective, but not ordinary,
dramaturgical theatrical language, made of direct contact with the child’s emotional listening.
Translating it on stage, paying specific attention to the use of gesture, a physical expression that has
the power to break down intellectual barriers and deeply involve the young audience. Using scenery
and costum creations which give organic matter to the world of fantasy, oneiric and striking in their
simplicity.
