The group’s repertoire has expanded to include a variety of works in different styles, and this evening’s programme reflects both the musical aims of the Exeter Bach Society and the fascinating and unusual history of the Customs House. Héloïse West is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music and of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Known especially for her work in oratorio and solo song, Héloïse has established a career in the South West and beyond. Claude Lamon is head of brass at Exeter College, having worked throughout South Africa with the Kwa-Zulu Natal Philharmonic Orchestra, the National Chamber Orchestra and the Durban City Orchestra. David Davies, a former conductor of the Exeter Bach Society, has worked in church music in the UK and the USA for over 30 years. Having held the Assistant Director of Music role at Exeter Cathedral until last year, David now pursues a freelance career as a solo performer, conductor and writer.
