Conclusioni e prospettive
The international conference, divided into two sessions, aims to explore the relations between
architecture and the plastic arts, sculpture and painting. It also intends to investigate relations between
architecture and cinema, music or dance in the period between the end of World War II and the early
70s.
In the immediate postwar period the work of artists and architects gave rise to the assumption that
between the different artistic expressions there existed interactions, reciprocal influences or even
collaborative undertakings that exerted an impact on their work on the level of practices, languages,
materials, contents or, more generally, on the level of form.
At the centre of attention there are the works, their design and construction, and the phenomena, the
experiments investigated, which we designate by the comprehensive term “intertextuality”. The
conference will therefore seek to show how a given artistic genre served as an intertext in relation to
others: as a generative, structural or formal model, by homology or analogy, as content, imitation,
quotation, parody, or in other ways.
