This sports facility has a circular, cement track 393 metres long and 8 metres wide, with raised
curves, built to host also motorcycle races. Inside there is a grass field that can be used for
gymnastics, football and rugby. Over the years, it has been the scene of a number of different
sports events: football matches, rugby, bicycle racing.
In 1996, a directive committee was set up and assigned to follow the renovation; 2003 saw the
total restructuring of the site.

Covered multi-purpose structure, located between the Lingotto and the ex-Olympic Village of
Torino. Built for the Torino 2006 XX Olympic Winter Games, it was the venue for the Speed
Skating competitions. Since the Olympic Games, it has been used for sports events, exhibitions
and meetings.

Year of construction: 2005.
Built for the XX Olympic Winter Games of Torino 2006, it was the venue for numerous matches of
the Ice Hockey tournament. It was inaugurated on the 13th of December 2005 with a friendly Ice
Hockey game between the Italian and the Canadian National Ice Hockey teams. After the Olympic
Games it has been used, and will continue to be used as a multi-purpose facility for a great variety
of activities (ice rink, indoor sports, concerts, shows, meetings, congresses, cultural events).

The “Palazzo a Vela” was first inaugurated on the occasion of the “Italia ‘61” Exhibition, celebrating
the first centenary of the unity of Italy. It became the “Palavela” following the total reconstruction of
the building (from October 2003 to December 2004) for the Torino 2006 XX Olympic Winter
Games; it kept its particular structure and the unusual shape of the original building.

equipment for gymnastics competitions, anti-doping room, 2 gyms for warm-ups, infirmary, meeting

Mountain Bike
Inaugurated in 1925, the park is situated at the top of the Hill of the Maddalena, the highest point
(715 m.) of the Torino hill district.
It is the largest green area of the city, more than 90 hectares, and inside there are 45 kilometres of
roads and pathways.
It has already hosted Mountain bike competitions: the “Grande Traversata della Collina” (from the
Colle della Maddalena to Superga, from Parco Vallere to Colle della Maddalena).

The actual name is “Parco Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto”, but it is known as Piazza d’Armi.
The park measures 151,800 sq.m. and it is situated in the area in front of the Palasport Olimpico
and the Stadio Olimpico. The park is rich with fields, avenues, trees, fountains, small lakes
and inside there is a sports facility that belongs to the Italian Army (Porcelli Sport Centre). Many
Torino citizens go there for jogging.

Reconstruction dates and operations: The Olympic Stadium, ex-“Stadio Comunale” (City
Stadium), underwent major reconstruction operations for the Torino 2006 XX Olympic Winter
Games, the Opening and Closing Ceremonies were held there. Originally built back in the 1930s,
until the 1980s it was the football stadium of Torino’s two football clubs: Torino Calcio and
Juventus FC. After the Olympic Games, it returned to its original use as home of the city’s football
clubs for the Italian Championships.

In 1959, for the first edition of the Universiade, the stadium was rebuilt: new stands were built in
masonry, the paving of the athletics track was replaced (at the time in bitumen).
In the past years, the stadium has undergone numerous renovation works. The most important are:
track and footboards covered with sportflex (2000), illumination system (2002), extraordinary
maintenance (2003), new covered stands, track re-laid (2004), audio system (2005).
On June 8th 2000, the stadium was renamed “Primo Nebiolo”, IAAF President from 1981 to 1999.

This is the oldest shooting range in Italy, founded to satisfy the wishes of King Carlo Alberto.

Viverone
The Viverone Town Administration has acquired rowing equipment complete with ropes and buoys,
already suitable for International Federation homologation.
The plant will satisfy the requirements of national and international competitions with the specific
modifications necessary for sporting events of an international level.
Specifically for Rowing:
- The lake area is already set up to easily accommodate vans and boat trailers.
- At the arrival zone, stands can be erected for at least a thousand spectators, and also a
judges and timekeepers’ tower.
- From point 500 to point 2000, the regatta facility is equipped with a wide walkway that
enables people to follow the race.
