Obiettivi
“Fin dall’inizio della mia carriera ortodontica,
più di quarant’anni fa, vi erano corsi con
titoli che includevano le parole “21° secolo”;
ora siamo in questo secolo e ancora molti
ortodontisti praticano l’ortodonzia come
se fosse ancora il 1950, ‘60 o ‘70. Perché
la maggior parte dei professionisti non
adotta le nuove tecniche di cui potrebbero
beneficiare sia i pazienti che la propria
attività? Siamo in disaccordo sui pro e
contro degli attacchi tradizionali rispetto
a quelli auto leganti, sulla dimensione
ideale degli slot e sul loro riempimento,
sui materiali e sulle dimensioni dei fili, sulla
posizione condilare nella fossa, sulle analisi
cefalometriche e questo elenco potrebbe
proseguire per pagine. Lo scopo di questo
seminario introduttivo (2 giorni) e avanzato
(3 giorni) è quello di chiarire e semplificare
tutto ciò che è avvenuto fino ad oggi
in ortodonzia e tutto questo alla luce di
un’esperienza di 40 anni con oltre 30.000
pazienti trattati”.
Objectives
Since the beginning of my orthodontic
career more than forty years ago, there
have been courses with titles that include
“…21st Century”. We are now well into that
century and yet many orthodontists are
practicing as if it were still the 1950’s 60’s
or 70’s. Why has most of the profession
NOT adopted “proven” techniques which
would benefit their patients and their
practices? We argue over the advantages
and disadvantages of traditional brackets
versus self-ligating brackets (SLB); we
argue over passive and active SLB’s; we
disagree on what size bracket slots are
best; we disagree on types of wires and
size of wires; we argue as to whether to
fill the slot or not; we cannot agree on
“where” the condyle belongs; various
cephalometric analysis will give us radically
different information. This list could go on
for pages. The purpose of this Introductory
(2 day) and Advanced (3 day) seminar is to
clarify and simplify all that has occurred to
date in the specialty of orthodontics using
a forty year perspective with over 30,000
patients treated.

Il Dr. Roncone ha studiato presso la
Marquette University a Milwaukee
dove si è laureato presso la School
Dental Medicine, mentre seguiva in
contemporanea studi in Fisiologia e
Neuroanatomia presso la School of
Medicine. La specializzazione in Ortodonzia è
avvenuta a Boston presso la Harvard School of
Dental Medicine e il Forsyth Dental Center.
Esercita a San Diego in California sia nel campo
del trattamento degli adulti (estetica, chirurgia e
TMD) che in quello del trattamento precoce dei
bambini. E’ un docente conosciuto e rispettato
nella comunità ortodontica americana ed
internazionale avendo tenuto più di 500 seminari
in tutto il mondo. La sua grande esperienza lo ha
portato ad introdurre un’impressionante numero
di innovazioni tecniche tra cui una personale
ed unica prescrizione per bande ed attacchi.
E’ considerato un’autorità non solo in campo
clinico, ma anche in quello del Management e del
Marketing. E’ presidente della R.O.I. (Roncone
Orthodontics International™) che offre corsi di
gestione e consulenze dell’attività sia clinica che
manageriale dello studio ortodontico.
After receiving his undergraduate degree
from Marquette University, Dr. Roncone
pursued graduate study in physiology
and neuroanatomy at the Marquette
School of Medicine while simultaneously
earning his dental degree from the
same university. His CV includes postdoctoral
certificates from the Harvard School of Dental
Medicine and the Forsyth Dental Center. Dr.
Roncone’s practice in San Diego County,
California, specializes in adult treatment
(aesthetics, surgical and TMD) as well as “early”
treatment for children. He is a respected and
frequent lecturer, having taught more than 500
seminars around the globe. His impressive
list of technical innovations include long (8-12
week) intervals between patient appointments,
which he introduced in 1989 through the use
of titanium wires, and the development of a
unique prescription for bands and brackets. He
is widely known in the orthodontic community
as the “Guru of Marketing”. Dr. Roncone is
President and CEO of Roncone Orthodontics
International™. ROI offers practice management
courses as well as in-office consulting and
marketing services.
