After completing her studies in classical ballet in Naples with Maestro Pierluigi Marzoni, she
perfected her technique with masters Robert Streiner and Alain Astie', and for modern dance, in
Rome under the guidance of teacher and choreographer Renato Greco, and later with Mat Mattox,
Giannin Loringet.
From 1972 she worked as a dancer in prestigious theaters: Bari, Bologna, Catania, Rome and
Trieste and she danced a solo in multimedia show “Faust”, directed by Laura Angiulli performed at
the DAHMS.
Since 1993 she went to New York each year to devote herself to the study of new techniques of
modern dance, contemporary and new stylistic-choreographic trends following courses at:
Broadway Dance Center, Steps Studio, Peri Dance with various Masters including: B. Hastings,
Chat Walker, Max Stone, Alain Danielson, Jason Parsons.
She has recently attended an intensive course in “Humphrey/Limon Technique” in Umbria, with famous master Nina
Watt.
Her personal style, musical, smooth and full of movement is fundamentally based on the technical elements of
Humphrey / Limon.

The Artistic center in Portici (Academy of Performing Arts), is one of the most famous centers in southern Italy for the
promotion and disclosure of contemporary dance.

The Renato Greco Dance Studio has been a point of reference for the professional training of dance for the past 30
years. Generations of dancers, many of whom have become famous, have studied or have been perfected in this school.

• With Ivir Danza is part of the project of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage "Night at the Museum",
performing in prestigious sites: Reggia di Caserta, Castel Sant 'Elmo, Palace of Capodimonte.
• She has been invited with her company by Arts Center – Cape Charles, in Virginia, USA in tournee' and her
choreography "Infinity Breath" was a great success with both audiences and critics.
• She made her first dance videos in the U.S. as Director and Choreographer. Title: "From it all began..." With
the collaboration of Maurice Lai, editor from Hong Kong and Chris Rholl, director of photography from
Norfolk.

Artistic Director IVIR DANZA
Ivir Danza promotes new and various trends of contemporary dance.
Since 1998 Irma Cardano has created for the company about 15 choreographies including: Mosaic, Happens, Marble,
Pulse, Sobs of water.
Her choreography Yerma by FG Lorca is produced and brought on tour throughout Italy by Renato Greco Ballet,
performed with the voice of famous Italian actress Isa Danieli, directed by
Riccardo De Luca.
IViR Dance Company participates in several TV-Shows including RAI.
• “Un' estate italiana” with famous Italian actor Lino Banfi, RAI1
• “La fabbrica dei sogni” with famous actor Alessandro Benvenuti, RAI1.
In 2009 she creates the choreography "NEXT" on the famous music of Ravel's Bolero, represented in the Royal Palace
of Portici, part of the "Festival delle Ville Vesuviane".
In 2011 - 2010 - 2008 she receives the prestigious Anita Bucchi award in Rome
for her activity in the art of dance training.
