DOMENICO ZONIN APPOINTED PRESIDENT IN APRIL 2016
ZONIN1821 CLOSES ITS ACCOUNTS FOR THE FIRTS SIX MONTHS OF 2016
WITH A CONSOLIDED TURNOVER OF 82,8 MILLION EUROS, UP 21% COMPARED TO 30th JUNE 2015
AND COMPLETES THE HANDOVER TO THE YOUNGER GENERATION
ZONIN1821, the wine production company that is a leader at both national and international levels, closes its accounts for the first six
months of 2016 with an increase in turnover of 21% compared to the same period in 2015 and its 2015 campaign with turnover up 16% to
186 million Euros (achieved 84 % abroad and 16% in Italy) and modifies the governance of the Company, in fact completing the handover to
the new generation that began in 2006, following the entry into the Company of Gianni Zonin’s sons: Domenico, Francesco and Michele
Zonin.
Ten years later, with turnover almost tripled (sales in 2006 were worth 68 million Euros), and all the principal economic and financial
indicators showing considerable growth, the generational handover has been completed thanks to the appointment by the Board of Directors
of ZONIN1821 of Domenico Zonin as the new President, conferment of the position of CEO to Massimo Tuzzi, who also maintains his
role as Chief Operating Officer, and the Vice-Presidential positions given to Francesco, Michele and Giuseppe Zonin.
Domenico Zonin, 43, since 2013 to May 2016 President of Unione Italiana Vini, succeeds to the Presidency of ZONIN1821, taking over
from his father Gianni Zonin, who has run the Company since 1967 for forty years, transforming it from a local dimension to being one of
Italy’s most important wine producers and an established, well-known brand all over the world.
This most recent development therefore completes and confirms officially the generational handover at ZONIN1821, which follows the
family tradition and now opens itself up to even more widespread managerial skills, carries on the mission of Commendatore Domenico
Zonin, continues the voyage begun by Gianni Zonin and passes on the system of values and culture of a business that will shortly celebrate its
200th anniversary in the world of wine.
These facts confirm the company’s constant growth over the last few years: thanks to its presence in more than 110 countries, it has shown
itself once again to be one of the world’s most significant wine producers, recognized globally for its highly successful management model and
its ability to innovate.
