MILANO LE VETRINE ]b En\bZgZ <nhfh _hmh <kblmbgZ ?bhk^gmbgb SHOP WINDOWS Vetrine sulle strade della città oppure negli spazi interni dei district che esibiscono il Design Week milanese, palcoscenici che esaltano persone, progetti, prodotti, installazioni. Shop windows looking out onto the city’s streets or in the districts’ indoor spaces showcase Milan’s Design Week and are important venues for people, projects, products and installations. THE OBJECT Artemide shows the meaning and purpose of its own commitment in research and innovation in terms of lighting with its leaders Ernesto Gismondi and Carlotta de Bevilacqua in the Milanese showrooms . 126 Its great interpreters are in the forefront of the showcase: Jean Nouvel, David Chipperfield, Ross Lovegrove, Arik Levy, Michele de Lucchi and the new entries: the Swiss architect Philippe Rahm with Spectral Light (in the photo) and the Italian-American architect Carlo Ratti, with Free Pixel (in the picture). The first architect basically breaks the artificial light according to the traditional range of wavelengths, in the name of a research on health, energy saving and technological development and for LED’s features: these are the key words of the identity of Artemide, which is leader in the lighting field. Why? To create a range of coloured beams of light that are suitable for everyone’s wellbeing at home: people, animals and plants. With great optical effects. Just like Free Pixel, an installation that changes its LEDs’ layouts and shapes with a mechanical arm. It’s not a lamp, it is actually a program based on the free arrangement of point sources on a panel, a dynamic ecosystem that changes like the pixel on TV screens. For this project Artemide developed both the magnetic pixel, a highly efficient LED element, and the multilayer PCB panel, which includes the wires and turns on the pixel at the moment of contact. The emitters are tiny, with a low energy consumption, digitally operated and most of all limits-free. Lights and cells can be combined into a system that is able to collect and produce light. Rahm explained: “No, actually we don’t talk about designing objects, we rather define spaces, also through systems of pressure, energy, light, air circulation… Following the current interest of design for intangible things, we want to create a lighting collection that meets biological and ecological values by creating those wavelengths that we can consider healthy, essential and affordable”. www.artemide.com B&B ITALIA/BUTTERFLY B&B Italia continues its story by carrying out a tradition of research, innovation and creativity. This brand is faithful to its roots and innovative as well, with authentic projects which are the results of research, development, prototyping, implementing, tests and changes of direction that aim at creating durable products that are suitable for an international public and meet real, stylistic and functional needs. These products increase in quality, performance and ethics and were conceived with the idea that every project is a heritage that must not be wasted. So the outdoor is developed through the textile system called Butterfly by Patricia Urquiola, which is nice, simple and technological, also suitable for any kind of weather and transversal uses, home, hotellerie and the nautical sector. www.bebitalia.com FLORIM PENSARE IN GRANDE ‘Connecting ideas for a new project experience’ è il concept che segna la presenza del Gruppo Florim a Milano.
