ENTE OSPITANTE
ROZANA ASSOCIATION
SETTORE IN CUI OPERA
The Rozana organization is an NGO established by a
group of people representing the owners of the old town
houses, attics and courtyards. These are the stakeholders
and they form 2/3 of the association's hierarchy. The
remaining 1/3 are concerned professionals who possess
relevant skills and knowledge. In addition the Rozana has
dedicated two seats in its founding board for the
municipality as the relationship is one of coordination and
partnership. There is also a seat for the Birzeit society
which represents the Birzeit community in the Diaspora.
Vision: To transform the old town of Birzeit into a vibrant,
dynamic and living legacy by developing its architectural
heritage and instilling life in its fabric of houses, attics,
courtyards and streets, hence acquiring a permanent
position for it on the heritage and rural tourism map of

DESCRIZIONE DEL PROGETTO
FORMATIVO
The Rozana organization aims at developing an agrocultural tourism product in Birzeit based on the
architectural and cultural heritage of its old town, its history
and its inherent resources, hence connecting stakeholders'
interest with a comprehensive production designed to
improve its social, economic and cultural aspects. It will do
so by:

Advocating laws and regulations that will protect
the remaining architectural heritage and fabric. This
legal advocacy will also be associated with
providing the stakeholders with the necessary
contracts in the case of rental or investment
contracts to do with their properties.

Administering a program of preventive maintenance
that will preserve targeted buildings from further
collapse and vandalism. This protective renovation
aims to conserve the architectural heritage and to
prepare the foundation for further investments and
development. The nature of the preventive
maintenance program is mostly external and does
not interfere with functional activities.

Creating functions and activities in each of the
renovated buildings according to a preset (yet
flexible) master plan aimed at instilling life in them
and the neighborhoods surrounding them.

Organizing a set of events and festivals to attract
guests to the town. In addition planning a series of
marketing efforts to promote the different products
and to assist in selling the local productions and
activities.

Creating a variety of spin off products that will
assist in the promotion of the town's activities as
well as serving the interests of the local community.
The proposed activities are: A. a boys and girls
choir to rehearse daily at a specific preset time in
the Latin Church. B. opening agricultural routes
that will serve the community as well as providing
hiking, mountain biking and other recreational
activities
