A SHORT BIO
Luigi dedicated his whole life to the experience of hearing. He has a professional background in sound
science/film sound ,music and visual arts, having been working so far in Rome, Paris, London and New York
City.
As a sound editor/designer he worked in over 20 feature films that have been screened at the major film
festivals worldwide (Cannes, Roma, Venezia, Torino, BAFTA, Tampa International and a shortlisting for
Academy Awards). He worked for years with Italian sound legend Fausto Ancillai (the name behind the sound
of all films by Leone, Fellini, Antonioni, Scola, Pasolini to name a few).
As a composer he scored two features and many shorts; after having been a resident composer for theatre
companies and film/TV productions, Luigi released some albums with several bands and musical projects, also
under his own name. He performs as a guitarist, pianist, keyboardist and live electronics player.
Luigi is currently a member of New York International Brazilian Opera, where he covers the roles of Resident
Composer and Director of Media and Documentation.
His chamber and electronic music works, including sound art, were premièred so far in Cosenza, Roma, Milano,
Bruxelles, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia, New York City.
He writes articles, tutorial and papers about sound, film sound, film music and music production on popular and
academic magazines.
In 2014 his hometown Cosenza in Italy awarded him with a special prize for young artist's career.
