La mostra ospita circa 25 opere fotografiche di grandi
artisti, tutte legate dal tema del sacro e appartenenti
alla collezione dell’artista Mauro Fiorese che, proprio a
questo argomento, dedicò una ricerca di 10 anni, una
mostra itinerante e un libro intitolato “aula dei”.
Nel corso degli anni, durante la sua ricerca sul tema,
l’autore ebbe modo di incontrare e lavorare con molti artisti, anche di grande fama, con cui si confrontò
sull’argomento della sua ricerca e le cui opere spesso
riflettevano un interesse comune, a volte anche casuale,
su un tema così complesso e di molteplice lettura come
quello del sacro. Attraverso un’indagine che spazia
dall’interesse verso l’iconografia sia artistica che legata
ai beni di largo consumo, fino ai riti, ai luoghi del culto
e gli aspetti più mistici - e non semplicemente religiosi
- ad esso riferibili.
The exhibition contains about twenty-five photographs
of great artists related to the subject of the sacred. All the
works are part of a collection belonging to artist Mauro
Fiorese, who has devoted ten years of research, a touring
exhibition and a book entitled “Aula Dei” to the topic.
During the years of his research, the artist was able to
meet and work with many reputable artists whose work
often reflected an ordinary and sometimes incidental interest in the complex subject of the sacred, which is open
to a multitude of interpretations. He confronted these
artists about the subject of his research. Undertaking
a sweeping investigation, he looked at interest, artistic
iconography or iconography associated to consumer
goods, rituals, places of worship, the most spiritual – and
not simply religious – aspects of the sacred as well as
the concrete aspects.
La diversità degli approcci al soggetto, degli stili, delle
tecniche, dei periodi e delle provenienze geografiche e
culturali degli artisti, rendono questa collezione tanto
coerente al tema quanto articolata nel suo illuminante
percorso. Tra gli autori in mostra ricordiamo Marco Bertin,
Colin, Mario Cresci, Joachim Froese, Nan Goldin, Luigi
Ghirri, Mario Giacomelli, Michael Kenna, Elaine Ling,
Andrew Miksys, Occhiomagico, Ken Rosenthal, Paul
Strand, Maggie Taylor, Jerry Uelsmann, Paolo Ventura,
Bruce West e altri ancora.
The diverse means of approaching the sacred – in
terms of style, technique, period and the geographic
and cultural origins of the artist – make this collection
as logical as the inspiring course the subject has taken.
Artists remembered in this exhibition include Marco

Luigi Ghirri, Mario Giacomelli, Michael Kenna, Elaine Ling,

Con questa mostra s’inaugura un ciclo di esposizioni presso il nuovo spazio espositivo OOOH! ART
dedicato alla Fotografia e nato in collaborazione con il
nuovo Museo Diocesano d’Arte di Verona. Il tema stesso
dell’esposizione inaugurale intende anche auspicare una
proficua e illuminante collaborazione per la divulgazione
dell’Arte della Fotografia d’Autore internazionale.
This show is the first of a series of exhibits to be displayed at the new exhibition space OOOH! ART. Entirely
devoted to photography, this space came about through collaboration with the new MuseoDiocesanod’Arte
di Verona. The subject of this inaugural exhibition is
intended to promote a worthwhile and inspiring collaboration for the opening of the international Arte della
Fotografia d’Autore.
