Course: Chinese A1 for children
Course Syllabus
Ⅰ. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed for children (from 6 to 12 years old) who have never learned Chinese before.
It aims at learning basic pronouncing and writing rules of Chinese (Mandarin) language and
developing elementary communicative skills and knowledge of the Chinese language and culture.
We’ll study Chinese through playing games, thus children can be easier to memorize it.
Ⅱ. COURSE OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the course the student should be able
 to grasp the pronunciation and intonation of pinyin (the phonetic system of Chinese);

to know expressions of greetings, how to introduce himself and his family, how to express his
animals and some kind of food;

to have a basic understanding of the structure and the meaning of common Chinese characters
(ideograms) .
