S T N E V E L A I SPEC 1 “So. Anyway. My name is Chiara Guerrieri, I’m thirty-nine years old, and I live in Rome. I have a husband, two kids, a job I like and a house.” Each day Chiara tells us about her daily life in 8 minutes. The diary, which runs from Monday to Friday, follows the protagonist’s weekly commitments; cappuccino with friends after accompanying the children to school, meetings at work, her son’s soccer games, her daughter’s rhythmic gymnastics lessons, homework, research to prepare, a love that is now over a decade old to keep alive…so many things, too many, to not be always, constantly, running behind. Each day Chiara turns to the viewer and ironically talks about her life, asking some questions that involve all of us. How can a woman be a good mother, good wife and realize her goals at work without completely losing her way? Do the children’s requests come before everything else, even when they ask you to make bread with walnuts and raisins, just like the mothers of their classmates seem to do? It’s a growing success that confirms its ability to weave the classic themes of the series – love, intrigue, passion, revenge, jealousy and friendship – with daily life and social issues. Many important themes are faced: from violence against women to foster care, the donation of blood and organs and the housing emergency through stories and characters that, with the immediacy and simplicity they have always had, are able to convey topics related to current events in which the audience can see itself completely reflected. ne n e r o i g g a m nta e v i d E L O S L A O T S O P N U ORIGIN Italy, 2013 FORMAT Tv series RUNTIME 250 x 27’ DIRECTION Stefano Amatucci, Alberto Bader, Cristiano Celeste, Gerardo Gallo, Isabella Leoni, Donatella Maiorca, Monica Massa, Bruno Nappi, Claudio Norza, Massimiliano Papi STORY Head writer: Paolo Terracciano; Story editor: Dario Carraturo, Guglielmo Finazzer, Sara Rescigno, Athos Zontini; Story liner: Benedetta Gargano, Cristiano Rocco, Kirsi Viglione, Andrea Vinti, Brunella Voto) SCRIPT Script super-visor: Rosanna La Monica; Script editor: Mario Donadio, Gabriella Mangia ART DIRECTION Fabio Sabbioni COSTUME Maria Sasso MUSIC Antonio Annona PRODUCTION Rai Fiction, FremantleMedia Italia, Centro di Produzione Rai Napoli ITALIAN BROADCASTER Rai Tre CAST Patrizio Rispo, Marzio Honorato, Riccardo Polizzy Carbonelli, Marina Giulia Cavalli, Nina Soldano, Luisa Amatucci, Alberto Rossi, Davide Devenuto, Claudia Ruffo, Michelangelo Tommaso, Peppe Zarbo, Marina Tagliaferri, Germano Bellavia, Luca Turco, Lucio Allocca, Carmen Scivittaro, Ilenia Lazzarin. www.unpostoalsole.rai.it 3 Piedmont, 1922. Borgo Larici is a quiet and orderly place where the men work in the textile factory while their wives take care of raising and educating the future generations of workers. Everything seems perfect, but things are bound to change radically. The echo of the social unrest that will revolutionize Italy in a few months is about to arrive here as well, and for Giulio Sormani (Simone Colombari), the factory’s owner, holding off the workers’ claims is becoming more and more complicated. The unexpected arrival of Francesco Sormani (Giulio Berruti), Giulio’s moody son, who preferred car racing and life in Paris to work in the factory, confuses matters further. Francesco rushes to the countryside after receiving an anonymous letter stating that his mother Margherita (Sara D’Amario), who officially committed suicide 23 years before, is actually still alive. The young Sormani wants to understand what is going on, but another mystery is quickly added to the first – the night after his arrival, in fact, the lifeless body of his father, Giulio Sormani, is found inside the factory. After this blow, Francesco is increasingly determined to stay in the village to investigate Margherita’s disappearance and Giulio’s death.
