CASTLE AND HISTORIC TOWN
Former Capital of a sovereign state which extended on either side
of the alpine range, Chambéry bears the imprints of its shared
past with the region of Piedmont, in Italy. Demonstrating this, the
castle, former residence of the Dukes of Savoy, together with the
townhouses of the nobility in service to the prince. The architecture, of Piedmontese inspiration, is often adorned with decoration
such as trompe l’œil paintings, wrought iron, carving…

of culture and communication.
Hôtel de Cordon. Chambéry’s Centre for the Interpretation of Architecture
and Heritage is housed in the Hôtel de Cordon, excellent example of the
habitat of Chambéry’s noble families.
Open from Tuesday to Sunday (10 am – 6 pm).

CASTELLO E CENTRO STORICO
Capitale di uno stato che si stende da ogni lato delle Alpi, la città
di Chambéry conserva traccie di questo passato comune col
Piemonte. Ne testimoniano il castello, antica residenza dei Principi
di Savoia, ed i palazzi delle famiglie al servizio del governo…
Anche la presenza dell’acqua ha lasciato la sua impronta, dando
alla città la sua fisionomia così particolare.

attribuito dal Ministero della cultura e della comunicazione.
Hôtel de Cordon. Il Centro di Interpretazione dell’Architettura e del Patrimonio è allestito nell’hôtel de Cordon. Questa antica casa signorile è stata
costruita nel 500 e rimodernata nel 700. E’ una testimianza del modo di
vivere delle famiglie abbienti locali.
Orario : martedi – domenica (ore 10.00 – 18.00).
