8785. Dal messaggio di auguri del Padre Generale
Il presepio, con le sue luci e le melodie natalizie, ci porta a scoprire il mistero
Buon Natale.
che in esso si nasconde: l’amore immenso di Dio, che si fa piccolo e povero, per incontrare la nostra piccolezza e povertà e per portarci la sua salvezza.
Giuseppe, Maria e il bambino che Lei portava nel grembo, non sono stati accolti nel borgo di Betlemme, e hanno trovato rifugio in una capanna.
Il Natale di Gesù ci svela un grande mistero della esistenza umana: nella emarginazione, nella povertà e umiltà di quella capanna, Dio e gli uomini che egli ama si
incontrano. Un passaggio dell’omelia di Papa Francesco nella Messa del 13 novembre scorso celebrata nella basilica vaticana ci aiuta a penetrare la comprensione di
questo evento:
“(La Parola di Dio) ci interpella oggi sul senso della nostra esistenza. Con
un’immagine, si potrebbe dire che queste letture si pongono come un “setaccio” in
mezzo al fluire della nostra vita: ci ricordano che quasi tutto in questo mondo passa,
come l’acqua che scorre via; ma ci sono realtà preziose che rimangono, come una
pietra preziosa in un setaccio. Che cosa resta, che cosa ha valore nella vita, quali ricchezze non svaniscono? Sicuramente due: il Signore e il prossimo. Queste due ricchezze non svaniscono! Questi sono i beni più grandi, da amare. Tutto il resto – il cielo, la
terra, le cose più belle, anche questa Basilica – passa; ma non dobbiamo escludere
dalla vita Dio e gli altri”.
Il Signore e il prossimo: questi sono stati i beni più grandi del nostro Fondatore. La pubblicazione “Dio e il Prossimo” con la quale Padre Annibale ha avviato un
lungo dialogo con gli amici e benefattori della Pia Opera, e ha diffuso il carisma, esprime in estrema sintesi la nostra identità carismatica, che in modo particolare viviamo nel mistero del Natale di Gesù, Figlio di Dio che si fa prossimo all’uomo. (…)
È significativo quanto ci ricorda Papa Francesco, ossia che in Cielo troveremo “Dio e gli altri”. L’abbiamo sempre saputo, ma ci viene sottolineato che il Paradiso per noi è il godimento della presenza di Dio e del prossimo. Ciò vuol dire che verso
questa meta dobbiamo camminare aggrappati con una mano a Dio e con l’altra ai
fratelli e alle sorelle. (…)
È questo l’augurio più sentito che rivolgo a voi tutti. Ci ottengano questa grazia Maria e Giuseppe e il Bambino Gesù, per l’intercessione dei nostri Celesti Patroni
e del Santo Fondatore.
8786. Consiglio Generalizio
Il 16 e 17 La sessione del Consiglio Generalizio in dicembre si è tenuta nei giorni 12 e 13; in
gennaio è programmata per i giorni 16 e 17 gennaio. È stata definita la Supplica per il
gennaio.
31 gennaio. La Commissione per le traduzioni sta provvedendo per tradurla nelle lingue inglese, spagnolo, portoghese e francese.

8787. Per il terremoto nell’Italia Centrale
Nella raccolta denaro promossa nella Congregazione per soccorrere le popolazioni
provate dal terremoto che ha colpito l’Italia Centrale si è raggiunta la somma di
€ 10.000,00; essa sarà consegnata personalmente dal Padre Generale, P. Bruno Rampazzo, all’Arcivescovo di Spoleto-Norcia, Mons. Renato Boccardo, martedì 20 dicembre.
8788. Visita di due Cardinali
In Curia. La celebrazione di chiusura del Giubileo della Misericordia ha visto la presenza di
numerosi presuli. È stata l’occasione per avere in Curia la visita di due Eminentissimi Cardinali. Domenica, 20 novembre, abbiamo avuto a cena il Card. Luis Antonio
G. Tagle, Arcivescovo di Manila. Egli conserva una fraterna amicizia con il Superiore Generale, e con i confratelli che hanno operato nelle Filippine, poiché era vicino a noi già prima di essere consacrato Vescovo. Giorno 22, a pranzo, è stato con
noi il Card. Raymundo Damasceno Assis, Arcivescovo Emerito di Aparecida
(Brasile), anch’egli molto vicino ai Confratelli del Brasile, e particolarmente al Consigliere Generale, P. Gilson L. Maia, che con lui ha collaborato in diverse occasioni.
Provincia Sant’Annibale - Italia Centro–Sud
Parrocchia 8789. Inaugurazione nuovi locali parrocchiali
di Bari. Il 1° dicembre 2016, alle ore 18.30, mons. Francesco Cacucci, arcivescovo di Bari,
ha inaugurato i nuovi locali parrocchiali realizzati nel Villaggio del Fanciullo di Bari, di pertinenza della Parrocchia Cuore Immacolato di Maria, di cui è parroco P.
Antonio Pierri con la collaborazione dei padri Sabino Maldera e Giuseppe De Vito.
Si tratta delle nuove aule per il catechismo e del salone comunitario. I lavori sono
stati effettuati negli ultimi mesi grazie ai contributi destinati dallo stesso P. Pierri e
provenienti dalla donazione della sua famiglia in memoria di suo fratello, il prof.
Luigi Pierri. L'arcivescovo ha presieduto la celebrazione eucaristica delle ore 19.00.

8790. Sinodo dei Vescovi del 2018
Documento Sul tema del Sinodo dei Vescovi del 2018, “I giovani, la fede e il discernimento vopreparatorio. cazionale”, dal 21 al 22 novembre 2016 si è tenuta in Vaticano la Riunione del Consiglio ordinario della Segreteria del Sinodo. È stato approvato il Documento preparatorio, alla cui stesura ha collaborato anche P. Vito Magno, del Centro Rogate,
chiamato tra gli Esperti come giornalista e direttore della rivista Rogate ergo. La
Riunione è stata presieduta da Papa Francesco, che ha seguito personalmente le fasi
di preparazione al Sinodo.

Curitiba. O 29º Encontro de Formandos Rogacionistas da Província São Lucas foi realizado
em Curitiba (PR), no Seminário Rogacionista João Paulo II, entre os dias 03 e 06 de

formação, em conjunto com a Equipe Provincial de Assessoria à Formação (EPAF),
o Encontro contou com a participação dos Aspirantes Propedeutas e Filósofos
(Bauru, Curitiba, San Lorenzo e Tucumán), do Postulante de Presidente Jânio
Quadros, dos Noviços (Brasília) e dos Junioristas Teólogos (São Paulo). Os
formadores também estavam presentes, assim como o Padre Provincial.
8792. Visita Canônica
Queimadas. A última Casa a ser visitada pelo Superior Provincial no primeiro ciclo de Visitas
Canônicas deste Governo ocorreu no Seminário Rogacionista Santo Antônio, em
Queimadas (PB), de 07 a 13 de dezembro, onde os Rogacionistas administram a Paróquia da Imaculada Conceição.
8793. Jubileu
Criciuma. No dia 08 de dezembro, festa da Imaculada Conceição de Maria, a Paróquia Nossa
Senhora das Graças, de Criciúma (SC), celebrou 50 anos de fundação. Neste dia,
uma missa solene e campal foi realizada em frente à Igreja.

São Paulo. No dia 22 de janeiro de 2017, na Paróquia São Pedro Apóstolo, em São Paulo (SP),
quatro religiosos emitirão seus Votos Perpétuos: Ir. Adriano Mateus Teodozio, Ir.

Priests.
8795. Seat of the Province – St. Hannibal Rogate Center
The five new priests of the St. Matthew Province held their Thanksgiving Mass in
their respective native places. On November 30, 2016, Fr. Francisco Gringo Tagabi,
celebrated his first Mass in Baggao, Cagayan; while Fr. Sherwin Valenzuela, presided over the Holy Eucharist for the first time in M'lang, North Cotabato on December 4, 2016. Carrascal, Surigao del Sur witnessed and were blessed by one of its
native sons, Fr. Welbert Llyd Suarez, in his first Holy Mass with them on December
8, 2016. Fr. Jessel Bangoy, on the other hand, presided over his first Eucharistic liturgy in Aras-asan, Surigao del Sur on December 10, 2016, and finally, on December
11, 2016, San Juan, Ilocos Sur prayerfully participated in the Thanksgiving Mass of
Fr. Tristan Angelo Tagabi.
8796. Christmas Celebration at FDFCS
On On December 25, representatives from SMP communities gathered and came to Fr.
December. Di Francia Center of Studies, Paranaque City for their common Christmas celebration.
During the whole month of December, the SMP Communities organized their respective Christmas caroling for friends and benefactors to raise funds for charity and
formation.

“Mabining Mandirigma” last December 18 held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines to raise funds for its social action programs in favor of public school students
and street children.

8797. 35th Foundation Anniversary of FHFC & Christmas Sharing 2016
December 7. The Seminary Community celebrated its 35th foundation anniversary on Dec. 7 with
the Holy Mass presided by the Superior, Fr. John Lucas, followed by blessing and
unveiling of the “Wall of Prayers” in the St. Hannibal Chapel. On December 11 and
18, the children attending the Sunday oratory at the Seminary were feted with the
traditional Christmas Sharing which was first introduced in 1985.
8798. Rogationist Postulancy
Field Exposure at the St. Francis Xavier Parish in Bataan – The Rogationist
In Bataan.
Postulants went for a field experience at the Parish St. Francis Xavier and St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia Parish Church in Parang, Bataan where the Rogationist Mission
in the Philippines started 40 years ago. They participated in various activities of the
Parish, including its Parish Fiesta, and visited the Indigenous People Community
(IP) in Matalangao, under the care of the Rogationist Mission Station in South Korea.

Slavery. The Novices made the act of spiritual Sacred Slavery to Mary during the Solemn
Vigil of the Immaculate Conception on Dec. 7, according to the indications of St.
Hannibal Mary.

8800. RC Formation Program for Parents and SABV Family Day
(Dec. 3-4) The Rogationist College Cavite, in coordination with the JS-HS Departments and Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), gathered the Parents and
Guardians of students for a Formation program entitled 'Empowering Parents for the
21st Century: A Call to Communion”. On the following day, St. Anthony Boys Village Cavite celebrated the Family Day with the theme: “SABV-Home of Communion”, participated by the families of our intern boys. Mr. Noel and Mrs. Carol Risos
were the facilitators of the recollection.
8801. St. Francis Xavier and St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia Parish – Bataan
St. Francis Celebration of the Feast of St. Francis Xavier
Xavier. Most Rev. Ruperto Santos, D.D., Bishop of Balanga, Bataan presided over the Parish Fiesta on Dec. 3, feast day of its patron saint St. Francis Xavier. Moreover, a
simple procession, cultural activities and fun were also organized.

November Meeting of the Religious Major Superiors
28. (Nov. 28 – Dec. 2) Fr. Noel participated in the Annual Assembly of the Association
of Major Religious Superiors of Vietnam held in Dong Nai Province. He represented
the Provincial Superior, Fr. Herman Abcede.
8803. The Acceptance to the Ministry of the Acolytate of Bro. Van Dong
Bro. Peter Van Dong was installed to the Ministry of Acolytate on Dec. 5, together
December with his Salesian classmates at Don Bosco Theology School in Thu Duc where the

8804. Funeral ceremony of Fr. Roy Moothedath RCJ

Fr. Roy Moothedath RCJ (32 years old) a Rogationist Indian Missionary in Angola,

function of Fr. Roy Moothedath RCJ at The Synodal Church, Udayamperoor that is
his own parish. The funeral ceremony was presided by Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Chakkiath, the Bishop Emeritus, in the presence of the sorrowing family as well as a big
assembly consists of big number of priests, sisters and laity. The human remaining of
Fr. Roy was received at the airport at around 3:00 am and brought to the Rogate ashram chapel. Fr. Roy was paid homage by a large number of people with their prayers.
The corpse remained in the backdrop of prayer and homage till 12:00 noon and afterwards, it was brought to his own house and then to the parish with the reverence and
prayer of so many people. The funeral function at the parish began at 3:00 pm with
the celebration of the mass presided by Bp. Thomas Chakkiath. Rev.Fr. Cineesh RCJ
who is also the batch mate of Fr. Roy, delivered the homily. The entire funeral function ended up at around 5:00 pm, leaving the sorrow and good memories of Fr. Roy
RCJ.
8805. Christmas meet of Rogate Alumni India
Rogate Alumni India (RAI), the group of the lay-rogationist, will have their ChristOn mas gathering on 22 December 2016 at Rogate Ashram, Aluva. The RAI had its last
December meeting on 11 September 2016 at the Quasi Province House in which it is decided to
22. have the Christmas gathering on 22 December, 2016 where all the members are invited with their family. The meeting is arranged with the convenience of the members
who are abroad so that they can also participate in the gathering. The gathering will
begin with a short Christmas reflection followed by adoration and Christmas novena.
It will end up with the Christmas dinner and programme.

8806. Ordination to the Diaconate and reception of Acolytate and Lectorate
December 2016
December The grand liturgical ceremony of the ordination to the diaconate as well as the reception of the Acolytate and Lectorate of our brothers will be held on 17 December
17.
2016 at the Renewal Centre Ernakulam. During the liturgical celebration presided
by His Excellency Mar Antony Kariyil, five of our religious students will be ordained deacons, two brothers will receive the ministry of acolytate and eight of our
brothers will receive the ministry of lectorate.

RCJ. On December 27, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. Deacon Devassy (Sibin) Poovely will be
ordained priest at St Joseph Church, Nayathode and will celebrate his First Holy
mass on the same day. On December 31, 2016 at 2.00 p.m. Deacon George (Fijo)
Malit will be ordained priest at St. Lazar’s Church, Kottappady and will celebrate
the first thanksgiving Eucharist on the same day.

8808. First Parish Priest in Kitiwum, Cameroon
November Bishop George Nkuo of the Diocese of Kumbo (Cameroon) erected on November
25. 25, 2016 the Parish of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Kitiwum which is entrusted to
the Rogationists of St. Joseph Quasi Province. In the occasion, the Bishop installed
Fr. Jeffrey Jagurin RCJ as its first parish priest. Among the attendees were Fr. Josef
Humenansky RCJ, Provincial of St. Joseph Quasi Province, confreres, diocesan and
religious clergy, FDZ sisters and other religious, benefactors and friends, and the
parishioners of the new parish. This Rogationist Mission in Kitiwum includes a Parish and an elementary school. This year's Rogationist Mission Day Project is for the
rehabilitation of the school building of the Parish in Kitiwum.

November On November 14, 2016, the Eucharistic Celebration for the closing ceremony of the
14. Door of Mercy was held in the Church of St. Anthony of Padua in Reedley for the
Vicariate of Fresno Rural Area presided by Fr. John Bruno, the Vicar Forane of the
Area. The bi-lingual Mass was concelebrated by Monsignor John Esquivel, Pastor of
St. Anthony; Fr. Isaac Meneses; Pastor of St. Isidore, Fr. Israel Avila, Pastor of St.
Mary and Fr. Edwin Manio, Associate Pastor of St. Mary.

Eucharistic celebration together with the Daughters of Divine Zeal in St. Elizabeth.
The two congregations of St. Hannibal will celebrate Thanksgiving together on the
24 of November to be hosted by St. Elizabeth community.

8811. Direttivo UAR
Curia Da venerdì 9 dicembre a domenica 11 presso la Curia Generalizia di Roma dei Padri
Generalizia. Rogazionisti le associazioni rogazioniste appartenenti all'UAR (Unione delle Associazioni Rogazioniste) si sono ritrovate per la riunione del Direttivo. Rappresentanti
delle Famiglie Rog, dei LAVR (Laici Animatori Vocazionali Rogazionisti), dell'ERA (European Rogationist Association) e degli Ex Allievi, coordinati dalla Presidente UAR Sig.ra Pina Varlaro, hanno incontrato il Consigliere Generale per il Laicato,
P. Gilson Luiz Maia per la programmazione annuale.
8812. Rinnovazione delle Promesse UPV
In dicembre. In quasi tutte le zone interessate dalla presenza di Gruppi di fedeli laici appartenenti
all'Unione di Preghiera per le Vocazioni (parrocchie rogazioniste e luoghi animati
dalla presenza sistematica dell'Animatore Provinciale UPV) c'è stata la rinnovazione
della Promessa UPV. Tale iniziativa, cominciata lo scorso mese di giugno a Galati
Mamertino (Me) si è conclusa con la Solennità dell'Immacolata Concezione e nei
giorni successivi nelle parrocchie di Napoli, Palermo, nel Tempio della Rogazione
Evangelica a Messina, Trebisacce, S. Stefano di Camastra, Altamura, etc. Mensilmente i vari gruppi ed i singoli aderenti sono provvisti del Kit-UPV che contiene la
pagellina mensile con le varie intenzioni di preghiera, quasi una Rete di Preghiera
per le vocazioni, ed uno schema di adorazione eucaristica facilmente moltiplicabile,
preparato dai coniugi Nella e Carlo Genco di Altamura. Altre notizie sono fruibili dal

8813. In ricordo di P. Tisci
Roma Gli Ex allievi della sede di Roma, come da programma, il 13 novembre 2016 si sono
Massimina. incontrati per la celebrazione di una S. Messa in suffragio degli Ex allievi e familiari
degli Ex allievi defunti. Per desiderio del Superiore della Provincia Sant’Antonio –
Nord P. Gaetano Lo Russo e per ricordare P. Antonio Tisci, deceduto il 29 settembre
2016, l'incontro si è tenuto presso la nuova Parrocchia "Corpus Domini" (zona Massimina - Roma) dove P. Antonio era Vice Parroco. Gli Ex allievi sono stati accolti
con molto calore e cordialità dal Parroco P. Luigi Amato. Gradita è stata la presenza
di tre giovani albanesi invitati da P. Luigi e del Console Albanese presso l'Ambasciata italiana Artur Bardhi. L'incontro si è concluso con un’agape fraterna con cibi preparati dalle mogli degli Ex allievi. È stata una bella giornata e, dopo i saluti, appuntamento al 22 gennaio 2017 per la giornata dell'adesione.
