years of experience in the gastronomic sector, both national and international.
He founded Il lusso della Semplicità a catering and consultancy company in
the food and licensing world.
He creates customized menus for public and private events.
His creative and generous cuisine, satisfies the taste of who loves refinement
without forgoing tradition.
Alessandro Borghese, since the beginning of his Television career has been
greatly followed and loved by his audience. Today, his cuisine programs, of
which he is author, are broadcasted both in Italy and abroad. Very keen on
technology has been defined by the national press the only Italian social chef
that has his own management of his web channels: Facebook – Twitter –Web
site. Born in San Francisco, married and father of a daughter. He lives
between Rome, Milan, London and the United States.

1976
Alessandro Vincenzo Borghese was born in San Francisco on 19th November.
Son of the famous actress Barbara Bouchet and of the entrepreneur Luigi
Borghese.
He has a younger brother called Max.
<To the classic question asked in school, on what I would have liked to
become when I was big? My answer always had an indefinite tone, it varied,
for a short amount of time, towards the choice of becoming one day a brave
fireman, to than change into the gloomy but courageous Mangiafuoco. As a
matter of fact, fire and food, stimulated by my natural optimism have been
located at best, simply, in the kitchen. The same place, where when I was a
child I could discover the five senses and augment the taste of creating.
Though, there is a precise moment of my childhood in which I have mixed in
my head the word fire with the verb eating to fulfill my real dream: become a
chef! I was five years old. Every Sunday morning I used to wake up very early
to watch the hands of my father move with extreme self confidence amongst
the kitchen stove, plates and knives.
I remember his smile while describing me a recipe, as if it was a special gift,
and this gradually developed in me and today it’s the way I communicate my

job, that goes beyond the mere cutting, slicing, whipping: when I cook, I
really enjoy myself! I love my job!>
<Well, it’s like this that the purpose of my life started. In the usual and
special kitchen of my childhood, that was full, in part with my wishes, that
today thanks to my obstinacy, to my enthusiasm and to my parent’s
teachings have become true. An extraordinary place, not one of the many of

1994
Following the graduation at the International School of Rome he signs on
cruise ships and for the next three years he will work in the kitchens.
The important experience of navigation around the World from one
hemisphere to the other, gives brainwave and inspiration to his culinary art
creations.
Here his inclination to gastronomy is noticed and encouraged by several
chefs, and it’s exactly in this context that Alessandro decides that his passion
for cuisine will become his job.

A world made up of many stories. Of one night loves. Of wrong recipes. Of
delicious successes. Of unexpected encounters. Of incredible places. Of
sincere smiles. Of narrations amongst friends. Of glances with people drinking
a beer and listening to music. Of nights, in bed with the arms folded behind

On November 30th 1994 I was navigating onboard the Achille Lauro, off the
coasts of Somalia, a fire broke out, causing on December 2nd the ship to sink.
I saw the last transatlantic liner sink forever, with all the blue beauty of its
funnels>.

1997
Works in the Italo-American quarter of San Francisco and a year later leaves
for London.
<In 1997 in San Francisco, I worked in a vegetarian restaurant of North
Beach, the Italo-American quarter of the city, I was twenty years old. The sun
was setting late and the evening menu had to be prepared, a dish that I liked

rather a lot was the giant onion, grid cut and then fried as a whole. Once
browned it looked like a very big flower>
<Cooking is my way of communicating, my means of creativity, it’s all my
being full of spontaneity, the mixing of incredible tastes with simple scents,
but sometimes unexpected. It’s a continuous challenge…>

1999
He attends some very important internships in Paris.
<When you want to explore new gastronomic frontiers, looking for creativity
for new dishes, you often go to Norway, to Spain, to England, but before
reaching one of these Countries, it’s necessary to stop in Paris. This city is a
mix of traditions and of absolute culinary knowledge>.

2000
Back to Italy attends the school for sommelier.
It’s in this period that he starts to work as cook for several restaurants in
Rome. One in particular, dedicated to good music and excellent food!
<Working in the wine world is a great way of combining pleasure and duty.
Wine is fantasy>.
<In that period of my life I started playing the saxophone, I was well
intentioned in learning diligently the rules in order to make the instrument
play a correct sound! Seen its complexity I dropped it after a few lessons.
From the restaurant I came back home too late and on my day off I was
either sleeping or studying on my cookery books.
Music is one of my passions, following cuisine and motorbikes, I listen to
everything mainly Rock! I have over one thousand CDs, organized in several
white libraries in the living room, next to my books on the history of jazz and
on biographies of Giants of music>.

2004
It’s the year in which his TV collaboration with the production company
Magnolia and the TV channel Discovery Real Time, starts.
And he conducts programs such as: Cortesie per gli ospiti. L’Ost. Cuoco

<In 2004 I was faced with a choice, on one side the TV channel Real Time,
was looking for a chef to whom entrust the program Cortesie per gli ospiti,
and on the other side I was asked to move to China and manage a famous
restaurant. I followed talent and today I conduct TV programs and I have
many friends registered on my website>.(AB)
<L’Ost made me put on weight, but it has also been a very precious help for
my professional growth, making me discover aspects of the Italian traditional
cuisine that I didn’t know about, and that I made treasure of.>
<If in l’Ost I identified myself with the grandchild that learns the secrets of
traditional cuisine from granny, for Cuoco gentiluomo it was asked me to lose
weight and to make all my charisma and
charm come out, to put at ease who I had in front>.
<After having cooked in “Cuoco gentiluomo” and tasted the creations of the
VIPs in “Chef per un giorno” I start another program: “Chef a domicilio”. It’s a
kind of docu-soap made by common people.
Round supermarkets, amongst the shelves, I am scouting for someone that
would like me around his kitchen for one day, from the son that would like to
cook for his parents to be forgiven for the tattoo he has just made, to the
completely incapable husband that would like to surprise his wife with a
special dinner!>

Florence, it convenes quality gourmet productions and books.

Balinese”, a dish that stimulated the curiosity of the people present.

cooking, 90 minutes to serve the 20 guests.

away you visit places far away from home, you meet different people for

unusual traditions; travelling opens your mind and soul. My honeymoon in
Hawaii was magical, on the Island of Maui a dreamy atmosphere reigns, there
is an idyllic landscape but lively at the same time, the great extinct Volcanoes
that surround you, the fabulous white sand beaches, the waterfalls in the

Always with an enthralling smile and his natural sprit, in 2010, every Sunday
morning, Alessandro cooked for the guests of the TV program broadcasted on
Rai Due “Ci vediamo domenica”.
He conducted on the digital channel la7D the program “Cuochi e Fiamme”.
In the same year he presents the Italian version of Bocuse d’Or.
Furthermore on Real Time, the new episodes of Cortesie per gli ospiti delle
dimore di New York” are broadcasted.
<New York has been a natural choice. When it was decided to export
“Cortesie per gli ospiti” New York has been the first thought, both because it
represents the real melting pot and also because the Big Apple greatly
fascinates people and enables you to work in a context that offers great

2011
Today on the TV channel Real Time, all his programs are broadcasted.
He was part of the jury, in the program broadcasted on Canale Cinque, prime
time: “La Notte degli Chef.”
And this year Alessandro cooks right from his kitchen with the new program
for Real Time, of which he is author: “Cucina con Ale.”
<Straight from my kitchen and with the music on, I cook to suit all tastes.
From vegan cuisine, Kosher, vegetarian and that for celiac, for children; and
obviously national and international dishes, for who loves something refined

<I am a motorcyclist with the iPod always turned on, that loves reading the
authors of the Beat Generation and adores going surfing in the Bay Area,
where the family of my mother lives, my grandmother and my aunts and
uncles and where still today I spend the holidays with my wife Wilma to relax
and surf in Bolinas. The air of the Marin County, is milder and warmer…> (AB)

Ale Contro Tutti – broadcasted on Sky, from Monday to Friday at 19.40
(channel 109 -110)
I am broadcasted on Sky with Ale Contro tutti. A real challenge in the kitchen,
on one side families, grandparents, couples and friends with their signature
dish, on the other there’s my revisited version. To award the winner, a jury of
people who enjoy good food, made up of two adults, and a kid, chosen
amongst Sky subscribers. A cooking show that involves also all my friends of
my social networks Facebook – Twitter – Web site, before the beginning of
each episode I will give some hints, to discover the track of the day. On the
Fan-page of Sky Uno, the audience will be able to guess the music chosen and
gain points to rise in ranking of Ale Contro tutti. At the end of the episode the
audience will be able to compete in a second contest concerning the recipe of
the following day; who will have reached the highest total, can win a banquet
prepared by me!>
