HAUPPAUGE ANNUNCIA L’ACQUISIZIONE DAL GRUPPO AVID TECHNOLOGY
DELL’INTERA LINEA PCTV DI PINNACLE

prodotti TV tuner per pc
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hauppauge, NY – 27 ottobre, 2008 – Hauppauge Digital Inc. (NASDAQ: HAUP), annuncia
l’acquisizione dell’intera linea PCTV di Pinnacle e relativo assetto da Avid Tecnology (NASDAQ:
AVID).
Le trattative dovrebbero concludersi entro la fine del 2008, gli esatti termini finanziari non sono stati
ancora comunicati in via ufficiale.
“I tuner per la TV analogica e digitale di Pinnacle sono noti a chiunque nel mondo” ha affermato
Ken Plotkin, presidente e Ceo di Hauppauge. “Con entrambe le linee di prodotti, Hauppauge
WinTv e PCTV, l’Hauppauge sarà ora in grado di offrire ai suoi clienti una completa gamma di
prodotti TV per i personal computer, dai modelli a basso costo di TV tuner per laptop ai più
sofisticati ricevitori TV usati dai produttori OEM”.
“Una notizia senza dubbio importante per il mercato dei TV tuner” aggiunge Amerigo Granata,
country manager di Hauppauge Italia “anche se l'intenzione dell’azienda è quella di mantenere per
i due marchi WinTV e PCTV gli attuali assetti interni ed esterni e le correnti posizioni sul mercato”
e conclude “anche sul mercato italiano verrà applicata la suddetta strategia.”
Durante questi ultimi mesi del 2008 Hauppauge lavorerà a stretto contatto con l’Avid per
assicurare una facile transizione della linea PCTV di Pinnacle soprattutto per quanto riguarda
partners e clienti Avid. A chiusura della transizione Hauppauge continuerà a sviluppare e
supportare sia le linee PCTV che WinTV.
