 That the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Citizenship office) request that I bring a Penal Certificate from
the Nigerian Police in order to obtain Italian citizenship.
 That in order to obtain the above certificate from the competent authorities in Nigeria, I need my
fingerprints taken by the Italian State Police.
 The Italian Police request this certificate for administrative purposes.
And that I make this declaration in good faith conscientiously believing same to be correct to the best of
my knowledge and in accordance with the provision of the Oath Act of 1963.

 Che l'ufficio cittadinanza mi ha richiesto di produrre il Certificato Penale della Polizia Nigeriana per
poter ottenere LA CITTADINANZA Italiana.
 Che per poter ottenere ciò, ho bisogno di avere le mie impronte digitali alla polizia di stato Italiana,
per fa si che io possa ottenere il suddetto certificato dalle autorità competenti in Nigeria.
 La polizia Italiana richiede il suddetto certificato per uso amministrativo.
E che faccio questa dichiarazione sinceramente e coscienziosamente credendo la stessa non mendace
e in conformità con quanto prescritto dall'atto dei giuramenti del 1963.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ITALIAN CITIZENSHIP
1. Send the fingerprints to a relation in Lagos who will obtain the Police Character Certificate from
Police Headquarters ALAGBON CLOSE, LAGOS.
2. To obtain the Police Character Certificate at Alagbon Close, Lagos, they need:
i.
Nigerian International Passport;
ii.
Permesso di Soggiorno;
iii.
4 Photographs;
iv.
The Finger Print document done in Italy.
3. The relation in Nigeria has to do Affidavit of Age for you. For this, please send the photocopies of
your International Passport so that your full Surname, Names, Date of Birth and Place of Birth
would be written exactly on the Affidavit of Age;
4. After the Affidavit of Age, the person should go to the NPC, (National Population Commission) and
obtain a note accompanying the Affidavit of Age;
5. All these documents, that is the Police Character Certificate, the Affidavit of Age and the Note from
the NPC have to be taken to Abuja, that, Legalization office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in
Wuze Zone;
6. After the stamping, then take the above mentioned documents to the Italian Embassy in Lagos for
Legalization with photocopies of your passport, photocopies of your Permesso di Soggiorno and
Italian Residence Certificate (Certificato di Residenza (in bollo) );
7. After the Whole Legalization in the Embassy of Italy in Nigeria;
8. They should mail the whole documents back to you;
9. Take them to the prefecture (Prefetura) for the further processes.
