Inside W e’ una scelta di design che permette di nascondere i fili di cambio e freno all’interno del telaio,
mantenendo la precisione di scorrevolezza tipica dei cambi a cablaggio esterno. Scapin porta all’estremo livello di sofisticazione questa strategia, realizzando componenti ad hoc che alloggino i cavi e ne facilitino lo scorrimento. La funzione pratica di salvaguardare le componenti in movimento si accompagna
a una impareggiabile pulizia e a un’estetica senza compromessi.

cleaning and an aesthetics without compromises.
Parte fondamentale della resa di un telaio è la capacità di frenata. Da anni Scapin, pioniere di questo tipo
di tecnologia, sviluppa telai con la pinza freno Post-Mount collocata nel carro inferiore. Ciò consente una
migliore ripartizione delle forze nel telaio garantendo una frenata migliore, più omogenea e più controllata. Aumentando sensibilmente il comfort di guida.
POST MOUNT ON CHAIN STAY
A fundamental part of frame performance is the braking capacity. For years now Scapin, a pioneer in this
technology, has developed frames with the Post-Mount brake calliper on the lower stay. This ensures
improved distribution of force on the frame thereby guaranteeing optimal, more uniform and more controlled braking. Riding comfort is thus also enhanced.
DIRECT MOUNT
Direct Mount: sinonimo di sicurezza e praticità. E’ infatti grazie a questo particolare sistema di fissaggio
del deragliatore che si risolvono sia i problemi di serraggio, che spesso con la tradizionale fascetta in alluminio andavano a comprimere e rompe le fibre di carbonio, sia a migliorare la trasmissione che diventa
più solida, precisa e sicura.
1.5 TAPARED HT
Lo sterzo conico è diventato oramai sinonimo di stabilità e precisione di guida. L’aumento della sezione
inferiore delle sterzo, accoppiato con una forcella conica da 1.5 pollici aumenta la sensibilità dello sterzo
e la distribuzione degli impatti col terreno. Rendendo il mezzo più maneggevole e controllabile in qualsiasi condizione.
1.5 TAPARED HT
The tapered head tube has now become synonymous with cycling stability and precision. The increased
lower section of the head tube, combined with a 1.5” tapered fork increases steering sensitivity and
distribution of impact with the ground. This means more control and manoeuvrability in any condition.
DIRECT MOUNT
Direct Mount: synonymous with safety and functionality. In fact this special derailleur fixing system is the
solution to all previous tightening problems, where often the traditional aluminium clamps pressed and
broke the carbon fibres, and improves transmission to make it more stable, precise and safe.

Il sistema PRESS-FIT, utilizzato nei telai di nuova generazione, offre un’opportunità in più in fatto di

TT Matrix TM
La personalizz azione del fasciato. La rigidità del monoscocca.
Si chiama TT Matrix TM ed è un procedimento innovativo ed esclusivo, messo a punto dai tecnici di Scapin Engineering.
Questa lavorazione, perfetto connubio tra la tecnica del fasciato e
quella del monoscocca, integra nello stesso stampo: tubo sella e scatola movimento - per irrigidire il telaio in fase di pedalata - e zona
sterzo con tubo diago- nale, per migliorare la reattività dell’avantreno.
Così facendo, vengono notevolmente irrobustiti ed irrigiditi i punti
critici del te- laio, quindi l’insieme reagisce alle sollecitazioni torsionali
come un pezzo mono- scocca e non come una giunzione di tessuti.
Grazie al TT MatrixTM, Scapin può offrire la “customizzazione” di un
fasciato senza perdere la reattività del monoscocca.
TT Matrix TM
Tailoring of the Tube-to-Tube. Strength of the monocoque.
Its name is TT Matrix TM and it is an innovative and exclusive process
created by the Scapin Engi- neering technicians. This process, a perfect marriage between the “Tube to Tube” technique and the monocoque technique, integrates in the same mould the seat tube and the
bottom bracket – to strengthen the frame when pedalling – as well as
the steering area with diago- nal tube to improve the responsiveness
of the front end. By doing so, we significantly strengthen and strengthen the frame critical spots, so that the whole body reacts to torsional stresses like a monocoque piece and not like a junction of fabrics.
Thanks to TT MatrixTM, Scapin can offer the “customization” of a
“Tube to tube” frame without losing the monocoque responsiveness

CFS - Comfort Flex System
Per chi sa che la rigidità non è tutto.
I telai Scapin sono famosi per la loro grande capacità di assorbimento delle vibrazioni. Mutuato direttamente dalla “maitrise” Scapin nella lavorazione dell’acciaio, il prin- cipio CFS Comfort Flex System è
realizzato su tutti i carri posteriori, anche quelli in composito.Grazie
all’ottimizzazione delle forme e delle sezioni d ei posteriori alti e la
tradizionale forma a balesta adottata da più di dieci anni da Scapin,
si ha una migliore dispersione delle forze, un ottimo assorbimento
delle asperità del terreno ed una minore incidenza delle vibrazioni
sull’avantreno. Il risultato più apprezzabile, è un affaticamento ridotto a carico dei muscoli
della schiena. Pur mantenendo un ottimo compromesso in termini
di rigidezza rispetto ai carri posteriori standard, il CFS garantisce un
comfort mag- giore del 30%.

The Scapin frames are renowned for their great capacity in absorbing vibrations. A direct result of the Scapin masteryI n the machining
of steel, the CFS Comfort Flex System princi- ple is applied to all
rear stays, even to those of composite.Thanks to the optimization of
shapes and sections of the high rear stays and to the traditional leaf
spring shape adopted for more than ten years by Scapin, we have a
better dispersion of forces, an excel- lent absorption of the ground
unevenness and lesser incidence of the vi- brations on the front end.
The most significant result is less fatigue for the back muscles. While
keeping an excellent compromise in terms of strength compared to
standard rear stays, the CFS guarantees 30% more comfort.

FORCELLINO D-DOUBLE
Sicuro, intercambiabile, pratico.
Questa innovativa soluzione permette di risolvere molti dei problemi
che presen- tano i classici forcellini in carbonio. Utilizzati per abbassare
il peso del telaio ed avere una linea più pulita, hanno da sempre
avuto una rapida usura dovuta al montaggio/smontaggio della
ruota posteriore. Scapin ha concepito D-DOUBLE attacco cambio a
doppia piastra in allumi- nio lavorato al CNC che va ad abbracciare da
entrambi i lati i forcellino in carbonio. Ciò consente di non avere usura
e preservare nel tempo il telaio. Il forcellino, diventando un corpo
unico con il carro, risulta estre- mamente rigido e compatto riducendo
le flessioni in fase di cambiata ed aumentandone la precisione. Grazie
alla sua anodizzazione D-DOUBLE diventa anche una rifi- nitura
estetica oltre che funzionale, di pregiata fattura, concepita per dare
uno stile unico alle bici Scapin.
DOUBLE-PLATE DROPOUTS
Safe, waterproof, practical.
This innovative solution allows solving many of the problems given
by classic carbon dropouts. Used to decrease the weight of the frame
and have a cleaner shape, they always wear pretty quickly because
of the assembly/disassembly of the rear wheel. Scapin has designed
D-DOUBLE, a double-plate gear stem of CNC- machined aluminium
that embraces both sides of the carbon dropouts. This eliminates wear
and preserves in time the frame. The dropouts, by becoming a sole
body with the stays, are extremely strong and compact, reducing the
flexions while changing the gear and increasing its precision.Thanks
to its anodizing, D-DOUBLE becomes also an aesthetic as well as a
functional finishing, conceived to give to the Scapin bikes a unique
style.

Spektro is designed to offer the utmost in terms of minimal weight and strength. This is why it
boasts a decidedly slim and aggressive design. The frame features a very compact rear stay, the
design of the seat tube has been shaped to improve the wheel arch. Gear and derailleur cables
enter the upper section of the frame for optimal functionality and a clean appearance. To be
noted: the alu plate at the bottom bracket acts as a shield to protect against dirt and stones.

Scapin impiega tubi i nteramente realizzati in acciai leggerissimi.
Sono prodotti 100% Made in Italy perché costruiti nell’atelier di
saldatura dell’azienda.
50% of the Scapin production uses tubes entirely made of extra
light steel. They are 100% Made in Italy because they are produced in the company’s welding unit.
Materiale resistente alla fatica, elastico, durevole, l’acciaio ha
subito negli anni una notevole evoluzione. Per Scapin resta il
materiale principe per dare valore ad una bicicletta: perché è
resistente, più confortevole dell’alluminio, ed assorbe bene le
vibrazioni. Scapin ha scelto tubi Spirit di Columbus, al Niobio
con Manganese, Cromo, Nickel, Molibdeno e Vanadio, a tripla
trafilatura, disegnati su specifiche custom dall’R&D dell’azienda.
Per garantire le prestazioni ed i pesi oggi richiesti dal mercato,
ogni tubazione è oggetto di una specifica trafilatura che ne modifica gli spessori. Poiché le dimensioni delle tubazioni prima
della saldatura variano, per ogni taglia la Scapin utilizza una specifica serie di tubazioni, così da avere i rinforzi sempre posizionati in modo ottimale.
A material that withstands fatigue, elastic, durable, steel has
been subject during the years to a significant evolution. To Scapin, it still is the best material to valorise a bike: because it is resistant, more comfortable than aluminium, and absorbs vibrations
very well. Scapin has selected Spirit tubes by Columbus, made
of Niobium with Manganese, Chrome, Nickel, Molybdenum and
Vanadium, with triple drawing, designed on custom specifications by the company R&D. To guarantee the performances and
weights requested today by the market, every tube is subject to
a specific drawing that modifies its thickness. As the dimensions
of the tubes before welding vary, Scapin uses for each size a
specific set of tubes, so as to have the reinforcements always
positioned in the best way.
Come nasce un telaio in acciaio Scapin ?
How a Scapin steel frame is made?
Alla base di tutto c’è il progetto delle geometrie del telaio, che
viene calcolato grazie ad un sofisticato software che arriva fino
a 1/4 di grado. La macchina digitale esegue le fresature ed i
dimensionamenti dei vari tubi grezzi ricevuti da Columbus, con
una precisione che arriva ai decimi. Terminate le lavorazioni preliminari i tubi vengono assemblati su una dima e puntati. Dopo
la centratura e rettifica i tubi vengono saldati a TIG rigorosamente in ambiente inerte. A garantire la massima resistenza alla
corrosione ed all’azione degli agenti atmosferici ci pensa il WPT
(Weather Proof Treatment), un trattamento di cataforesi eseguito
internamente ed esternamente sulle tubazioni in acciaio. Il telaio finito è infine sottoposto al sofisticato trattamento SST (Steel
Surface Treatment): un bombardamento a pressione calibrata, di
microsfere che compattano la struttura superficiale del materiale
aumentando la resistenza (+ del 50%vv) e disperdendo concentrazioni di tensioni, create dalla saldatura.
Lo smeriglio di tutte le saldature viene effettuato manualmente.
Seguono le operazioni di verniciatura, eseguita con una cura e
una qualità dei materiali e delle lavorazioni tali da renderla famosa nel mondo, e l’aggiunta di tutti gli accessori non a saldare.
At the foundation of everything there is the design of the frame geometries, which is calculated thanks to a sophisticated
software that reaches up to ¼ of degree. The digital machine
carries out milling and dimensioning of the various unfinished
tubes received from Columbus, with a precision that reaches
decimal points. After the preliminary machining, the tubes are
assembled on a template and “pinned”. After centring and grinding, the tubes are TIG-welded in an inert environment. To guarantee the maximum resistance to corrosion and to the action
of atmospheric agents, we apply the WPT (Weather Proof Treatment), a cataphoresis treatment made on the inside and the
outside of the steel tubes. Finally, the finished frame is subject
to the sophisticated SST treatment (Steel Surface Treatment): a
bombardment at calibrated pressure of microspheres that compact the structure of the material surface increasing the strength
(+ than 50%) and dispersing concentrations of stress created by
welding.
All welded spots are polished by hand. Then the frame is painted with a care and quality of materials and processes such as to
make it worldwide famous, and all accessories that do not need
welding are added.
