’isola d’Elba è collocata in posizione strategica al confine tra Mar Ligure e Mar Tirreno,
crocevia delle rotte che collegano alcune delle località più esclusive del Mediterraneo: Costa
Azzurra e Riviera ligure con le storiche mete turistiche della Sardegna e dell’Arcipelago Partenopeo.
Imbarcazioni, yachts di lusso e navi da crociera transitano perciò nelle acque dell’Arcipelago Toscano in
prossimità delle coste dell’Elba, terza per estensione
tra le isole italiane, che qui trovano sempre utile ridosso con ogni condizione meteomarina, essendo
l’Isola ricca di baie ed insenature facilmente fruibili
che consentono un comodo riparo dai venti.
A livello internazionale l’Isola è da sempre conosciuta come esilio dell’Imperatore Napoleone, un richiamo suggestivo che induce anche il turista nautico a fare una sosta “culturale”, un’occasione per poi scoprire anche una natura incontaminata.
Lo sviluppo della nautica, nell’ultimo decennio, ha visto crescere l’importanza degli scali elbani che trovano in Portoferraio un esempio di porto polifunzionale unico nel Mediterraneo, in grado di conciliare eccezionali requisiti tecnico/nautici di sicurezza con la
straordinaria opportunità di accogliere il turista direttamente nel cuore della città medicea (che si erge
sulla rada) abbracciandola con le sue imponenti fortificazioni. È questa la porta di accesso all’Isola che
consente l’ormeggio di traghetti e navi da crociera nel
porto commerciale, mentre superyachts ed imbarcazioni da diporto sono ospitate nella splendida cornice della Darsena Medicea, incantevole approdo turistico che si insinua nel borgo antico di Portoferraio,
dal quale è protetto con la caratteristica forma a ferro
di cavallo. Solo 70 posti barca in grado di soddisfare
ogni tipologia di utenza: dal piccolo diportista al ricco tycoon a bordo del superyacht di 100 metri di lun-

ghezza che, grazie ai generosi fondali ereditati da Cosimo I de’ Medici, ha l’esclusiva possibilità di ormeggiare proprio di fronte all’antica Porta a Mare, a pochi passi dal celeberrimo museo Napoleonico.
Un’opportunità unica nel Mediterraneo che ha favorito la crescita di una piccola nicchia di turismo elitario ed ha regalato a Portoferraio il transito dei più sensazionali yachts del mondo. In questo contesto è cresciuta anche la nostra specializzazione nel cercare di
dare sempre pronta risposta alle più esigenti, e spesso
stravaganti, richieste di questo tipo di clientela: dal
consierge all’assistenza tecnica, cercando però di far
sempre assaporare quanto di meglio l’isola è in grado
di offrire. Portoferraio non è l’unica possibilità di accesso all’isola per il turismo nautico. Nel versante
orientale abbiamo infatti lo splendido porticciolo di
Porto Azzurro di recente destinato esclusivamente al
diporto e, grazie all’allestimento della nuova banchina di sopraflutto, in grado di ospitare yachts fino a
60 metri. Un delizioso borgo marinaro meta di turismo nautico anche in bassa stagione, a poche miglia
di distanza dai principali porti turistici del frontista
continente. Porto Azzurro, oltre all’ospitalità del paese e alla favorevole location all’interno di un riparato
golfo, è in grado di fornire sicuro ridosso da tutti i
venti del 3° e 4° quadrante. Uno degli aspetti più affascinanti e di richiamo dell’Isola d’Elba è l’estrema varietà di paesaggi che si possono “gustare” in questo
fazzoletto di terra, dove ogni approdo turistico che si
affaccia sul mare rappresenta una porta di accesso ad
un’isola, per certi versi differente; dai colori del versante orientale, intarsiati di reperti di archeologia industriale delle miniere di ferro (dalle quali prende il
nome l’isola) si passa all’impressionante vegetazione
del versante occidentale dominato dal monte
Capanne. Proprio alle pendici del monte, nel versante nord occidentale, si dischiude il porticciolo di Marciana Marina, altro gioiello che consente a chi proviene dal mare di effettuare sosta in altro approdo,
per poter completare la visita dell’isola; il porticciolo
è stato recentemente ristrutturato consentendo
l’ormeggio di yacht fino a 40 metri circa con tutti i
servizi necessari in una nuova marina turistica. Grazie alla riqualificazione degli approdi turistici pre70
senti oggi sull’isola, chi proviene dal mare con qualunque tipo di mezzo nautico può fruire di un sistema di accessi capace di mostrarla nella sua completezza e nella sua diversità. Storia, natura, cultura e cibo: uno spaccato delle ricchezze nelle quali il nostro
Bel Paese e la nostra bella Isola non hanno rivali.

lba is located in a strategic position between
the Ligurian and the Tyrrhenian Seas, at a
crossroads of sailing routes that connect
some of the most exclusive destinations in the
Mediterranean basin: the Côte d’Azur and the
Ligurian Riviera, worldwide renowned retreats in

yachts, cruise ships, and boats of every dimension
and type cross the waters of the Tuscan Archipelago
off the shore of Elba’s coastlines, the third largest

growing importance of Elba’s harbors, in particular
the port of Portoferraio, which stands as an
unparalleled example of a multifunctional marina
throughout the Mediterranean basin. Exceptional
requisites in technical-nautical safety combine
perfectly with an extraordinary historical venue,
where the imposing Medici bulwarks gracefully
shield the docks and immediately plunge visitors
arriving from the sea into the magic of history.
Portoferraio is the gate to the island for ferryboats
and cruise ships that dock in the commercial port,
and for super yachts and leisure boats that are welcomed in the marvelous framework of the Darsena Medicea (Medici Docks), right in the ancient part of

town. The wharfs can accommodate up to 70 boats
and the generous depths inherited from Cosimo I de’
Medici satisfy the needs of all users, from the smallest boats up to 300-foot luxury yachts that are able
to moor just opposite the ancient Porta a Mare, a stone’s throw from the famous Napoleonic Museum.
A unique opportunity in the Mediterranean that
fostered the growth of a nautical tourist elite and
ranked Portoferraio as the favorite mooring post
among the most sensational luxury yachts from all
over the world. Services and facilities were therefore
developed and improved in response to the needs of
the most demanding users, from concierge service to
technical assistance, without neglecting the chance
for visitors to relish the best that the island can offer.
Portoferraio is not the only ‘sea gate’ to the island,
though. On the eastern coast, the marvelous harbor
of Porto Azzurro is dedicated exclusively to the
mooring of leisure boats. Thanks to the renovation
of its wharfs, it also accommodates up to 96-foot
yachts. Its charming marina attracts seafarers during
low season, too, and beside the hospitality of locals,
its favorable location offers a safe shelter against all
southwest and northwest winds. One of Elba’s most
fascinating and alluring aspects is the intense variety
of landscapes that can be ‘tasted’ on this stretch of
land, where each and every bay and inlet offering
access to the island from the sea ensures its own
unique panorama. From the typical colors of the
eastern coastline, dotted with industrial
archeological remains of the ancient iron quarries, to
the impressive flourishing vegetation of the western
coast towered by the Mount Capanne, at whose feet
opens up the small harbor of Marciana Marina;
another jewel offering safe mooring for leisure boats
on the opposite side of the Island. The marina has
recently undergone intensive renovation and can
now accommodate up to 130-foot yachts, coping
with modern technical requirements. Thanks to
intensive development and the improvement of
marinas and wharfs throughout the island, tourists
landing from the sea are guaranteed an access system
where technical standards combine with a touch of
history, nature, culture and gastronomy: an array of
wealth and richness where our beautiful country and
our enchanting island are unrivaled.
