DAVIDE CROFF
Chairman of Permasteelisa S.p.A.
Davide Croff was born in Venice on October 1st, 1947.
After a degree in Economics at the University Ca 'Foscari of Venice, he completed
his studies in England, obtaining a Postgraduate Degree in Economics at Pembroke
College, Oxford.
Mr Croff’s professional career began in 1974 at the Research Department of the
Bank of Italy; in 1979, he moved to the Fiat Group where he held various positions
including Head of Foreign Financial Affairs Fiat S.p.A., Finance Manager Fiat Auto
S.p.A. and Manager of Financial Affairs Fiat Group.
In 1989 he was appointed Deputy General Manager of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro
and the following year he became CEO of the bank.
From 2004 to 2007 he served as Chairman of the Fondazione La Biennale di
Venezia.
Since 2000, in addition to the positions he still holds, he has covered various roles
including Member of the Presidential Council of the Foundation Querini Stampalia in
Venice as well as Member of the Board of Directors of Terna S.p.A. and Snam Rete
Gas S.p.A.
In addition, he has been Senior Advisor for the private equity firm TPG from 2006 to
2013.
Currently, in addition to the chairmanship of Permasteelisa S.p.A., he is Chairman of
Fondazione Ugo e Olga Levi in Venice and Director of the Management Board of
Banca Popolare Milano.
He is also Member of the Board of Directors of several companies, including the
European Institute of Oncology, Genextra, Gala S.p.A. and Elica S.p.A. Besides, he
is a member of The Council for the United States and Italy and of the Comitato
Leonardo, member of the Board of Assonime and advisor of Roland Berger.
In June 2000 he was honoured with the title of Knight Grand Cross of the Order of
Merit of the Italian Republic.
He is married and father of three children.

Davide Croff è nato a Venezia l’1 ottobre 1947.
Terminati gli studi in Economia presso l’Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia, prosegue
la sua formazione in Inghilterra, conseguendo un Postgraduate Degree in Economics
presso il Pembroke College dell’Università di Oxford.
La sua carriera professionale ha inizio nel 1974 presso il Dipartimento di Ricerca
della Banca d’Italia; nel 1979 si trasferisce nel Gruppo Fiat dove assume diversi
incarichi, tra i quali Responsabile Affari Finanziari Internazionali di Fiat S.p.A.,
Direttore Finanziario Fiat Auto S.p.A. e Direttore Affari Finanziari del Gruppo Fiat.
Nel 1989 viene nominato Vice Direttore Generale della Banca Nazionale del Lavoro
e l’anno successivo acquisisce la carica di Amministratore Delegato dell’Istituto di
credito.
Dal 2004 al 2007 ha ricoperto il ruolo di Presidente della Fondazione La Biennale di
Venezia.
Dal 2000 ad oggi, oltre alle cariche attualmente ricoperte, ha svolto diversi incarichi
fra i quali Componente del Consiglio di Presidenza della Fondazione Querini
Stampalia di Venezia, Consigliere di Amministrazione di Terna S.p.A. e di Snam
Rete Gas S.p.A. Inoltre è stato senior advisor di TPG dal 2006 al 2013.
Attualmente, oltre alla Presidenza di Permasteelisa S.p.A., ricopre la carica di
Presidente della Fondazione Ugo e Olga Levi – Venezia e Consigliere del Consiglio
di Gestione della Banca Popolare di Milano.
E’ inoltre componente del Consiglio di Amministrazione in diverse società, tra cui
l’Istituto Europeo di Oncologia, Genextra, Gala S.p.A. ed Elica S.p.A, oltre ad essere
membro di The Council for the United States and Italy e del Comitato Leonardo,
componente della Giunta Assonime e advisor di Roland Berger.
Nel giugno del 2000 è stato insignito dell’onorificenza di Cavaliere di Gran Croce
Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana.
E’ sposato e ha tre figli.
