AS SYNONYMOUS WITH ADDED VALUE
Nel mio lavoro alla Jove di Parma,
azienda leader nella realizzazione
di sistemi costruttivi prefabbricati e
rivestimenti in legno, ho imparato
ad essere selettivo perché quando
l’obiettivo è costruire l’eccellenza
con il legno non si possono accettare
compromessi. Ogni anno percorro
migliaia di chilometri alla ricerca di
linee e tratti illuminati che nel mio
immaginario siano in grado di stupire
e di rappresentare un valore aggiunto
per un determinato contesto abitativo
o naturale. Lo faccio perché l’obiettivo
della mia azienda non è solo quello
di produrre numeri, ma è anche e
soprattutto quello di produrre bellezza
attraverso il legno, materiale nobile
e versatile per eccellenza, capace di
donare all’ambiente e alla nostra vita un
valore superiore. La parola aggiungere è
il motore di chi svolge una professione
come la mia ed è la consapevolezza
di poter accrescere il valore del nostro
ambiente che ci fa superare gli ostacoli
di una committenza che ancora non
ha compreso il profondo significato
di quelle linee e di quei tratti e, al
contrario, vivere intensamente la
soddisfazione di quando i nostri percorsi
si intrecciano con quelli di committenti
o progettisti lungimiranti. E’ stato così
nel 2013 quando le linee dei miei viaggi
mi hanno condotto in una splendida
località sul Lago di Garda, dove sono
stati da poco conclusi i lavori di Jove
per la realizzazione di un ampliamento
residenziale di 241 mq, progettato
dall’architetto Donatella Bertelli.

During my job at the company Jove,
the Parma-based leading manufacturer
of prefabricated construction systems
and wood coatings, I have learnt to be
selective, because when the aim is to
build the excellence with wood, you
cannot accept any compromise. Every
year I drive thousands of kilometres
searching for illuminated lines and
strokes supposed to be able to astonish
and to represent an added value for a
certain residential or natural context. I
do it because the aim of my company
is not only to produce numbers, but
also and above all, to produce beauty
through wood, a noble material,
versatile par excellence, able to add
a higher value to the environment
and to our life. The word adding is
the engine of those who do my same
work. It is the awareness to be able to
increase the value of our environment
to make us overcome the obstacles of
clients who have not understood yet
the deep meaning of those lines and
those strokes and, on the contrary, to
live fully the satisfaction when our paths
meet those of far-sighted customers
or designers. It was so in 2013 when
the lines of my journeys led me to a
splendid town on Garda Lake, where
the works by Jove for the realization of a
241 sqm residential extension, designed
by architect Donatella Bertelli, have
been recently completed.

Nel 2013 la mia professione mi ha condotto a
Torri del Benaco, una località turistica immersa in
una ricca vegetazione sulla splendida Riviera degli
Ulivi, alle pendici del Monte Baldo. Qui l’incanto
della natura si unisce alla bellezza della storia con
un porticciolo romano e un borgo medioevale tra
i più caratteristici del Lago di Garda. Alla residenza
in pietra, per cui l’architetto Donatella Bertelli aveva
richiesto la collaborazione di Jove, situata in questo
contesto di grande bellezza, serviva un intervento
di ampliamento in grado di aumentarne il valore
con eleganza e sofisticatezza. Quando l’architetto
ha iniziato a schizzare delle linee marroni su di un
foglio, accostando il legno alla pietra in un gesto
che arricchiva il progetto del simbolismo degli olivi
della zona, mi è stato subito chiaro che la bellezza
si stava arricchendo di eccellenza. Questo nuovo
volume realizzato da Jove ci fornisce oggi di fatto
un ottimo esempio di prefabbricazione in legno in
grado di apportare un valore aggiunto a un progetto
di ampliamento residenziale. L’accostamento del
legno di larice, utilizzato per i rivestimenti di facciata,
alla pietra del volume pre-esistente consente una
perfetta integrazione del costruito nel meraviglioso
oliveto circostante. Il risultato che restituisce la buona
architettura ripaga di tutti gli sforzi per ricercarla e per
arrivare allo scopo di produrre buona architettura
è necessario, come è stato per questo progetto,
confrontarsi con chi ha la consapevolezza che certe
linee e tratti illuminati abbiano il potere di accrescere
il valore di un ambiente e di chi lo vive.
In 2013, my job led me to Torri del Benaco, a tourist
town immersed in a rich vegetation on the splendid
Olive Riviera, at the foot of Monte Baldo. Here,
the charm of nature is merged with the beauty of
history, with a small Roman port and one of the most
characteristic Medieval villages of the Garda Lake. The
stone residence situated in this great beauty context,
for which the architect Donatella Bertelli required the
collaboration of Jove, needed an extension able to
increase the value with elegance and refinement.
When the architect started to sketch some brown lines
on a piece of paper, by coupling wood with stone in a
gesture enriching the project of the symbolism of the
olive trees of the zone, it was immediately clear that
the beauty was being enriched by excellence.
This new structure built by Jove offers today a perfect
example of wood prefabrication able to bring an
added value to a residential extension project. The
use of the larch wood for the façade coating, coupled
with the stone of the pre-existing house, allows a
perfect integration of the building in the wonderful
surrounding olive-yard. The result that gives back
good architecture recompenses for all the efforts to
search for it. In order to reach the aim to produce
good architecture, it is necessary, as it was for this
project, to compete with those who are aware that
certain illuminated lines and strokes have the power
to increase the value of an environment and of those
who live it.
