FOREIGN WOMEN TRAINING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BASIC HEALTH SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE: THE “TREE OF HEALTH” CASE Abstract Our work is focused on initiatives aimed at basic health training of migrant women. In order to talk about the multicultural laboratory of the Tree of Health we started talking about education, ethics and practice communities. The author of this laboratory is the Region of Tuscany, which is also the creator of several initiatives in the territory of Prato and collaborator of projects expanded to several institutions throughout Italy. The Tree of Health, whose result is Mum Health, namely the practical training through AudioCD, videos and brochures on woman's health and mother, is a highly successful community of practice which, according to Wenger, is a group born under a spontaneous enthusiasm around a theme or shared need, in which learning is reciprocal, and circular and, although there is a management élite, participation and decision-making are a common heritage. The Tree of Health wants to provide migrant women health information and suggest to professionals intercultural ways to approach foreign guests communities. This is not a fixed-term project but a group open to all and who renews its initial assumptions: creating and spreading a new culture of useful exchanges among different people, in parity.
