Il future simple si forma con l’ausiliare will + la forma base del verbo per tutte le
persone.
Uso
Il future simple si usa:
 Per predire azioni o eventi futuri non dipendenti la nostra volontà;
Esempio: Juventus will win on Sunday. ( La Juventus vincerà domenica.)
Esempio: You’ll feel better after a rest. ( Ti sentirai meglio dopo aver
riposato.)
 Per esprimere opinioni ( spesso con verbi hope, think, believe, expect, ecc.,
le espressioni I’m sure/afraid, I wonder if, o gli avverbi probably, perhaps,
ecc.);
Esempio: I think he will pass his exam. (Penso che supererà l’esame.)
Esempio: Perhaps he will come tonight. ( Forse verrà stasera.)
 Per esprimere decisioni istantanee, prese nel momento in cui si parla;
Esempio: I’m hungry. I’ll have a sandwich. ( Ho fame. Mangerò un panino.)
Esempio: It’s cold. I’ll wear the coat. ( E’ freddo. Metterò il cappotto.)
 Per minacciare o avvertire;
Esempio: Be quiet or I’ll send you out. ( Zitti o vi mando fuori.)
 Per fare offerte o promesse;
Esempio: I’ll help you ( Ti aiuterò)
Esempio: I’ll buy you that sweater. (Ti comprerò quell maglione.)
 Nelle frasi principali del periodo ipotetico di primo tipo. Periodo ipotetico di
primo tipo: Si usa quando la condizione espressa nella dipendente è ritenuta
reale, o possibile soprattutto rispetto a fatti del presente o del futuro.
