APPLYING FOR SCHENGEN VISA
Since September 2015, the Italian Consulate in Brisbane is responsible for processing only
Schengen Visas for Papua New Guinea's citizens and residents who wish to spend most of
their holiday in Italy.
Italian National Visas will continue to be processed by the Consular office of the Italian
Embassy in Canberra.
In order to facilitate the processing of the visas, this office requests that all documentation
will be sent via email prior to the appointment [email protected]
Please register to our website www.consbrisbane.esteri.it and make an appointment for visa.
Please consider that from the day of your appointment we request a minimum of three
working days to process and issue your visa. You will be required to arrange your own
Australian visa and accommodation in order to meet the processing time.

2 recent passport-size photographs
Passport with a valid expiry date at least six months from the date or return
For NON CITIZENS - Permit of Stay in PNG valid at least 12 months from the return date
Bookings for flights to Europe and back. Bookings of all internal transfers (train, bus or
car)
3 months bank statement showing that you have sufficient funds as per table below. The
bank statement must have your name, address and account number
Proof of working or studying (if applicable). Letter of invitation (if applicable)
Travel Health Insurance with a minimum cover of Euro 30,000 for expenses for
emergency hospitalization and repatriation expenses, valid throughout the Schengen area
Availability of Accommodation (Hotel reservation, Declaration of hospitality)
