So much to see...
Sicily is a land full of surprises, whose mild climate makes
it an ideal family holiday destination in any season of the
year. Moreover, what it has to offer is enough to arouse
the curiosity and holiday spirit of any child in the world:
the highest volcano in Europe, kilometres of sandy beach
and sea, temples, castles and catacombs, marionettes and
puppet shows, not to mention some of the world’s best
arancine, gelati, and granite.
So much to do...
If breathtaking scenery and centuries of history are not
enough to inspire you to bring your children here on
holiday, then we can add: birdwatching for golden eagles
and griffons in the pristine Nebrodi Park; snorkelling in the
crystal-clear waters of the Zingaro Reserve; trekking tours
with donkeys in the town with the world’s most famous
mosaics; carriage rides through the enchanting scenery of
Ragusa, as seen in the Commissario Montalbano TV series;
scavenger hunts “on a farm”; and orienteering in labyrinths
and amidst modern art pyramids. These are only a few of
the ideas created and developed by TREK&KIDS Sicily,
offered to our guests by the first network of hospitality
operators specialising in nature holidays designed for
families with children.

FOR QUALITY
Those who choose an operator displaying the TREK&KIDS
logo will find that natural and cultural sights are not the only
surprises. Here you will find a warm welcome, efficient service,
security, professionalism and, most importantly, services and
equipment geared towards families, walkers and trekkers.
The TREK&KIDS hospitality network consists of 10 tourism
and hospitality operators spread across the island.
These hotels, “agriturismi”, holiday rental homes and camping
facilities have committed to providing High Quality Brand
Standards focused on the care, safety and peace of mind of
our youngest guests and those travelling with them.
Our network operators have all signed a strict policy
document binding them to comply with a series of rules
designed to ensure a “positive” welcome and guarantee the
presence of equipment and services for their guests — young
or old, walkers or trekkers. You will find the list of these
commitments in the lobby of every facility.
Facilities may differ based on each operator’s unique features
and its location, but each has designed its services so as to
allow guests to get the most out of what the surrounding
nature has to offer, while, at the same time, helping families to
enjoy the same comforts they would in their own homes.
Binoculars, trekking poles, backpacks and complimentary
waterproof windbreakers, nature itineraries to be explored
on foot with the help of an app, special meal arrangements
with flexible hours for sports lovers and children, equipment
such as high chairs, changing tables, bottle warmers, prams,
safe and secure playgrounds, qualified staff and lots of
entertainment are all examples of what we can offer.
The high quality TREK&KIDS brand is the end
result of a project of the same name co-financed
by the Sicilian Regional Tourism Authority
with funds from the Italian Ministry of Cultural
Heritage and Activities and Tourism (MiBACT). It
involves companies in the hospitality industry and
organisations operating in various municipalities
around the island.
The project was created to diversify the Regional
nature-oriented attractions, helping the local
hospitality industry to specialise in families and in
visitors interested in trekking.
Project activities also included nationwide
marketing surveys, as well as a focused training
course and specialised consulting services for
sector operators.

We offer a series of special benefits:
• Children between 0 and 3 years of age ALWAYS stay for
free, with no cradle fee!
• Children between 4 and 12 receive a 50% discount on
official rates.
In official and affiliated TREK&KIDS restaurants you will find
special, low-cost menus or, if you prefer, “half-portions” at
half price.
On excursions organised for adults:
• Children up to 12 years of age can ALWAYS come along
for free!
With your fidelity card, you will find guaranteed discounts
on all your child-related needs, from nappies to children’s
clothing, from toys to pharmaceutical and homoeopathic
products.

Guests at TREK&KIDS facilities will receive, for no additional
fee, a fidelity card that entitles our youngest visitors and
their accompanying adults to various discounts or gifts at
participating stores or tourist attractions.
For every overnight stay in one of our network’s facilities
you will be rewarded with 1 “little snail”.
If you collect 3 little snails in at least three of our network’s
facilities, you will be entitled to a late check out on the
occasion of your next stay, allowing you to keep using your
room until the afternoon.
If you collect 5 little snails, you will be entitled to one
delicious local product.
If you collect 8 little snails, the whole family will be entitled
to one free overnight stay.
When you have collected all of the little snails, the
TREK&KIDS network will reward you with an overnight stay
and a planned excursion.

Our facilities are ideal for those who love walking excursions
or trekking, whether alone or in the company of their
children.
For the latter, our facilities will provide you with prams and
backpack child carriers designed for trekkers. What’s more,
we will provide a variety of picturesque nature itineraries to
choose from, with varying levels of difficulty and suitable for
children. Thanks to convenient apps, you will need no guide
to follow them.
Those tireless trekkers who prefer to go it alone can indulge
their passion secure in the knowledge that they are leaving
their children in good hands, where they will be cared for by
professionals, in well-equipped facilities perfectly suited to
meet their every need.
