Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the LINDY USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter, which allows you to connect
your computer to a 10/100/1000Mbps network through an existing USB port. Due to USB 3.0
specification, this adapter ensures true 10/100/1000Mbps network speed.

Installation*
DO NOT connect the Ethernet Adapter to the computer before completing the driver installation.
Windows OS:
Insert the Driver CD into your disk drive. Locate and double click <Setup.exe> to launch the
setup procedure. Click <Next> to continue, then click <Finish> to complete the installation.
Mac OS:
Insert the provided CD into your disk drive. Locate and double click <AX88179...pkg> to launch
the setup procedure.
Verifying the driver
Follow the steps below to open the Device Manager on Windows:
Windows 7: Control Panel\System and Security\System\Device Manager
Windows XP: Control Panel\System\Hardware\Device Manager
In the Network adapters group, an item named ASIX….Ethernet Adapter should be listed.
Follow the steps below to open the Device Manager on Mac OS:
1. Connect the USB to Ethernet adapter to the Mac.
2. Click the System Preferences -> Network -> USB Gigabit Ethernet device active on line
Note: If there appears a question or exclamation mark, the driver is not properly installed.
Please delete the item then, unplug the adapter and repeat the installation.
Connection:
Connect the adapter to an available network when the installation procedure is completed.
1. Connect an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the adapter, then connect the other
end of the Ethernet cable to an available network hub, switch or router.
2. Plug the USB connector of the adapter into a free USB port of the computer. A pop-up
message will appear in the notification area, indicating that the installation is completed.
Note: The Link LED should light up in yellow to indicate a proper physical connection between
adapter and network. If the Link LED does not light up, please verify the cable connection
between all the network devices.

Installation*
Installieren Sie zuerst den Treiber von beiliegender CD bevor Sie den Ethernet Adapter am
Computer anschließen.
Windows OS:
Legen Sie die Treiber-CD in das CD-Laufwerk und starten Sie die Treiberinstallation mit einem
Doppelklick auf die Datei <Setup.exe>.
Mac OS:
Legen Sie die Treiber-CD in das CD-Laufwerk und starten Sie die Treiberinstallation mit einem
Doppelklick auf die Datei <AX88179...pkg>.
Überprüfung der korrekten Treiberinstallation
Folgen sie den Schritten wie unten beschrieben um den Gerätemanager unter Windows zu
öffnen:
Windows 7: Systemsteuerung\System und Sicherheit\System\Geräte-Manager
Windows XP: Systemsteuerung\System\Hardware\Geräte-Manager
In der Liste der Netzwerkadapter sollte nun ein ASIX….Ethernet Adapter erscheinen.
Folgen sie den Schritten wie unten beschrieben um den Gerätemanager auf dem Mac zu
öffnen:
1. Schließen Sie den USB Ethernet Adapter am Mac an.
2. Click the Systemeinstellungen -> Netzwerk -> USB Gigabit Ethernet Adapter verbunden
Achtung: Wenn ein Frage- oder Ausrufezeichen erscheint, wurde der Treiber nicht korrekt
installiert. Bitte löschen Sie dann den Treiber, ziehen Sie den Adapter vom Computer ab und
beginnen Sie die Installation von neuem.
Anschluss des Adapters
Schließen Sie den Adapter nach erfolgter Treiberinstallation an einem vorhandenen Netzwerk
an.
Anschluss ans Netzwerk
1. Verbinden Sie zunächst ein Netzwerkkabel mit dem RJ45-Port des Adapters und dann
das andere Ende des Netzwerkkabels mit einem Netzwerkhub, -switch oder Router.
2. Den USB-Stecker des Adapters stecken Sie in einen freien USB-Port des Computers.
Ein Pop-up wird über die erfolgte Installation informieren.
Achtung: Die gelbe Link-LED sollte aufleuchten um eine korrekte Verbindung zwischen
Adapter und Netzwerk anzuzeigen. Wenn dies nicht der Fall ist, überprüfen Sie bitte die
Kabelverbindungen der Netzwerkgeräte.
* Die Treiberinstallation kann abhängig vom Betriebssystem in der Abfolge bzw. bei den Screenshots
leicht variieren.

Installation*
Installez d’abord les pilotes du CD fourni avant de connecter l’adaptateur Ethernet sur
l’ordinateur.
Windows :
Introduisez le CD dans votre lecteur et démarrez l’installation des pilotes en double-cliquant sur
le fichier <Setup.exe>.
Mac :
Introduisez le CD dans votre lecteur et démarrez l’installation des pilotes en double-cliquant sur
le fichier <AX88179...pkg>.
Vérification de l’installation des pilotes
Suivez ces étapes ci-dessous pour ouvrir le gestionnaire de périphériques Windows :
Windows 7: panneau de configuration\Système et Sécurité\Système\Gestioonaire de
périphériques
Windows XP: panneau de configuration\Système\Matériel\Gestionnaire de périphériques
Dans la liste des adaptateurs réseau, un icône ASIX….Ethernet Adapter doit apparaître.
Suivez ces étapes ci-dessous pour ouvrir le gestionnaire de périphériques Mac :
1. Connectez l’adaptateur USB Ethernet au Mac.
2. Cliquez sur Paramètres Système -> Réseau -> “USB Gigabit Ethernet Adapter” connecté
Attention: lorsqu’un point d’exclamation apparaît, le pilote n’a pas été correctement installé.
Merci de supprimer le pilote, déconnectez l’adaptateur de l’ordinateur et ré-installez les pilotes.
Connexion de l’adaptateur
Connectez l’adaptateur à un câble réseau, après avoir installé correctement les pilotes.
Connexion au réseau
1. Connectez d’abord un câble réseau au port RJ45 de l’adaptateur et l’autre extrémité du
câble réseau à un switch réseau ou routeur.
2. Connectez la prise USB de l’adaptateur dans un port USB libre de l’ordinateur. Un Popup vous informera de l’installation réussie.
Attention: la LED jaune Link doit rester allumer prouvant ainsi une bonne connexion entre
l’adaptateur et le réseau. Si ce n’est pas le cas, vérifiez les connexions des câbles et des
appareils réseau.
* L’installation des pilotes peut varier suivant le système d’exploitation utilisé.

NOT collegare l’adattatore al computer prima di aver completato l’installazione dei driver.
Windows:
Inserire il CD con i Driver, fare doppio click sull’icona <Setup.exe> per avviare la procedura di
installazione. Cliccare <Next> per proseguire, quindi su <Finish> per completare l’installazione.
Mac:
Inserire il CD con i Driver, fare doppio click sul file <AX88179...pkg> per avviare la procedura di
installazione.
Verifica driver
Seguire i seguenti passaggi per aprire Gestione periferiche su Windows:
Windows 7: controllare da Pannello di controllo\Sistema e Sicurezza\Sistema\Gestione
periferiche
Windows XP: controllare da Pannello di controllo \Sistema\Hardware\ Gestione periferiche
Nel gruppo Adattatori di rete dovreste trovare un icona chiamata ASIX….Ethernet Adapter
Seguire i seguenti passaggi per aprire Gestione periferiche su Mac OS:
3. Collegare l’adattatore USB al Mac
4. Cliccare su Preferenze di Sistema -> Network -> USB Gigabit Ethernet attivo e on line

Collegamento:
Collegare l’adattatore ad una porta di rete disponibile una volta che la procedura di installazione
è completa.
3. Collegare un cavo Ethernet alla porta RJ45 dell’adattatore, quindi connettere l’altro capo
del cavo ad una porta libera su un hub, switch o router di rete.
4. Collegare il connettore USB dell’adattatore in una porta USB del computer. Comparirà
una finestra pop-up con indicato che l’installazione è completa.
Nota: il LED Link giallo dovrebbe accendersi per indicare una connessione fisica corretta tra
l’adattatore e la rete. Se il LED Link non si accende, verificare che il cavo di rete sia funzionante
e collegato correttamente.
