INTERNAZIONALI D'ITALIA 2013 Arco di Trento.
Si chiudono gli Internazionali d'Italia sulla pista di Arco di Trento, il team
Ricci Racing si presenta al completo per provare la pista in configurazione
mondiale che si correrà il 14 aprile.
Nella Mx1 Shaun Simpson continua il suo apprendistato sulla TM 450, il
pilota scozzese ha effettuato delle buone prove riuscendo a girare su tempi
molto interessanti andando a centrare un ottimo sesto tempo assoluto.
Shaun Simpson in partenza della manche non riesce a sfruttare il buon
posto al cancelletto di partenza perdendo diverse posizioni ma grazie ad
una buon ritmo di gara incomincia a recuperare giro dopo giro andando a
chiudere in settima posizione, peccato per la brutta partenza se no il pilota
di Ilario Ricci avrebbe potuto stare insieme ai primi.
I piloti della Mx2 Samuele Bernardini e Ivo Monticelli hanno effettuato
delle bellissime prove cronometrate riuscendo ad entrare nella top ten,
Bernardini ha chiuso con il sesto tempo assoluto e Monticelli con l'ottavo.
I due giovani piloti in sella alle loro 250 non sono riusciti ad avere un buon
avvio di gara e hanno dovuto faticare per recuperare, la pista
monotraiettoria non ha aiutato il compito ai due alfieri TM, sotto la
bandiera a scacchi Bernardini è transitato 16° e Monticelli 20° ma
comunque qualificati per la finale Elite.
Giornata sfortunata per Tomas Ragadini nella 125 che è incappato in due
cadute riportando una gran botta nella seconda manche, il pilota è stato
portato in ospedale per accertamenti di rito.
Nella classe Elite Shaun Simpson dopo una grande partenza Shaun ha
dovuto alzare il ritmo a causa di un non perfetto setting della sua moto
finendo comunque in ottava posizione. Ivo Monticelli dopo una partenza
non perfetta ha recuperato molto bene concludendo al 13° posto,
Bernardini con una partenza stratosferica è riuscito ad entrare nei primi
dieci e se non fosse incappato in una caduta avrebbe completato una
grandissima manche.
Prossimo appuntamento il 2 marzo per la prima prova del mondiale in
Qatar.

“Sinceramente oggi poteva andare meglio. Non è stata una bella giornata.
Thomas è caduto è ha preso una botta alla testa. Adesso è in ospedale, non
è niente di grave ma la botta è stata forte e preferiamo fare degli
accertamenti. Monticelli nell'ultima gara è partito bene ed ha fatto una
buona rimonta. Shuan anche lui fa fatto una discreta superfinale ma
dobbiamo ancora lavorare per mettere a punto le sospensioni per
Simpson. Adesso torniamo a casa per preparare le moto e spedirle per la
doppia trasferta Qatar – Thailandia.”
Simpson
“Non è stata una giornata ottimale. Oggi nella finale ELITE abbiamo
provato un'altro setting sulla moto ma ancora non abbiamo trovato la
perfezione. Il tracciato di Arco di Trento è veramente difficile. Molto
scivoloso e con poco grip. Nella finale sono partito bene ed avevo anche
una buona velocità ma ho ancora bisogno di trovare una buona taratura
delle sospensioni e migliorare le caratteristiche del motore. Però sono
abbastanza soddisfatto, la moto piano piano cresce e poi
penso che queste gare servano sopratutto per fare dei test e sono convinto
che saremo pronti per il primo GP della stagione.”
Monticelli
“La prima gara non è andata benissimo. Sono partito male, cioè lo scatto
è stato buono ma a metà rettilineo ho sbagliato marcia e sono stato infilato
subito dagli altri. Ho cercato di rimontare ma sono caduto quattro/cinque
volte. Forse sono ripartito troppo agitato ma ho finito ventesimo anche se
il ritmo non era male. Ho fatto veramente una brutta gara.
Nella finale invece sono partito meglio, tutto esterno ma in fondo al
rettilineo sono stato chiuso. Ho fatto un bel recupero e alla fine ho tagliato
il traguardo tredicesimo nella Elite che tutto sommato non è male visto che
corriamo insieme ai quattroemmezzo.
In queste gare mi sono preparato bene e adesso si va in Qatar per la
prima prova del Mondiale.”
Bernardini
“Oggi è stat l'ultima gara degli Internazionali d'Italia qui ad Arco di
Trento e sono relativamente soddisfatto di questa prova perchè nella gara
riservata alla MX2 ho fatto il terzo tempo nelle prove cronometrate e
pensavo di fare meglio anche in gara ma non è andata benissimo. Nelle
Elite sono andato al cancello trentaseiesimo credevo di fare una gara tutta
in salita. Invece sono partito tra i primi dieci, ero messo molto bene, ma
poi sono caduto, la moto non è ripartita e mi sono dovuto ritirare.”

2013 MX ITALIAN SERIES – ARCO DI TRENTO
The last round of 2013 Mx Italian Series took place in Arco di Trento,
where the GP of Trentino of the World Championship will be held on the
14th of April.
In Mx1 Shaun Simpson went on his apprenticeship on his TM 450,
obtaining good results in the qualifying practices and finishing 6th.
However, Simpson didn’t take advantage of the good place in the starting
gate but thanks to a good rhythm he managed to catch up some positions
finishing 7th. Mx2 riders, Samuele Bernardini and Ivo Monticelli, had two
great qualifying practices entering both the top ten; Bernardini realized the
overall 6th fast lap, while Monticelli the 8th.
The two young riders on their 250s didn’t start so well and they had to
work hard to catch up positions because of the lack of lines. Bernardini
finished 16th, while Ivo 20th, but both qualified for the Elite.
In 125, Tomas Ragadini fell twice and in the second race he was brought to
hospital for a routine check after a bad crash.
In the Elite, after a great start, Shaun Simpson had to work hard for a nonperfect setting of his bike finishing 8th. Ivo Monticelli finished 13th and
despite a crash Samuele Bernardini succeeded entering the top ten thanks
to an excellent start.
Ricci Racing Team’s next race will be the 2nd March for the first GP of the
World Championship in Qatar.

“I think today our performance could be better. It hasn’t been a good day.
Thomas fell and he hit his head. Now he’s in hospital for a check but it
isn’t a serious injure. In the Elite, Monticelli had a good start and he
realized a good result. Shaun raced well but we have to work hard to
develop his suspensions. Now we come back home to prepare the bikes and
then send them for the GPs of Qatar and Thailand.”
Simpson
“Today in the Elite we tried another setting on the bike but we haven’t
found the perfect one yet. The track is very difficult: very slippery and with
little grip. In the Elite I started well and I had a good speed but I need to
find a good setting for my suspensions and improve the feature of the
engine. I’m rather satisfied: the bike gradually improves and I think these
races are useful especially in order to have some tests and I’m sure we’ll
be ready for the first GP of the season.”
Monticelli
“In the first race I had a bad start because I jumped out of the starting
gate well but then I got wrong with the gear. I tried to catch up some
positions but I crashed four or five times. Maybe I was too nervous and I
finished 20th even if my rhythm was good. I had a very bad race. In the
Elite I had a better start and I had a great recover finishing 13th. In these
races I had a great training and now we are ready for the first GP of the
season in Qatar. ”
Bernardini
“Today the last round of the Italian Series took place here in Arco di
Trento and I’m rather satisfied with my performance because in the Mx2 I
finished 3rd in the qualifying practices. In the Elite I started in the top ten
but then I crashed and my bike didn’t start so I was forced to stop.”
