Una girandola di forme e colori puri, tante diverse
texture, citazioni eclettiche e innesti. Casa Nadja,
appartamento per una famiglia di cinque persone
ad Atene, in un quartiere a nord della città,
è opera dello studio Point Supreme Architects.
Due livelli una volta indipendenti – due esperienze
spaziali opposte, complementari – sono stati uniti
in un unico appartamento di 270 metri quadrati.
Il piano inferiore è un ambiente continuo, una sorta
di mare popolato da pezzi di arredo che, come
isole galleggianti, si guardano, definendo
e mettendo in comunicazione le funzioni (cucina,
sala da pranzo, soggiorno e area giochi). Partizioni
interne, vetrate, schermi di legno, elementi
passanti, tendaggi e altri filtri visivi aiutano
a delineare e nello stesso tempo a connettere.
A flurry of pure forms and colours, many different
textures, eclectic citations and grafts. The Nadja
Apartment for a family of five in Athens,
in a district in the north of the city, is the work
of the Point Supreme Architects studio.
Two levels that were once independent – two
contrasting, complementary spatial experiences –
have been united to form a single apartment
of 270 square metres. The lower floor is open plan,
a sort of sea peopled with furnishings and fittings
that float in the space like islands, defining and
linking the functions (kitchen, dining room, living
room and play area). Internal partitions, glass walls,
wooden screens, curtains and other visual filters,
along with elements that pass through them, help
to delineate and at the same time connect. Among
Sopra, le vibranti abbinate con segni grafici distintivi: ogni elemento e particolare è inserito in un quadro più complesso (vedi il “catalogo delle strutture”, al centro),
fatto di rimandi e citazioni, mai banali. Un sole stilizzato di colore rosa, per esempio, chiude la scala come se fosse la cupola di una micro architettura.
Nell’altra pagina, la struttura di legno che scherma l’ingresso riprende i separé e le recinzioni giapponesi. I vari filtri visivi aiutano a delineare e nello stesso tempo
a connettere le isole funzionali che caratterizzano lo spazio.
Above, the vibrant colours coupled with distinctive graphic signs: every element and detail is inserted in a more complex framework (see the “catalogue of structures”
at the centre) made up of references and citations that are never banal. A stylized sun of a pink colour, for example, closes the staircase as if it were the dome
of a tiny work of architecture. Opposite page, the wooden structure that screens the entrance draws on Japanese alcoves and enclosures. The various visual filters
help to delineate and at the same time connect the functional islands that characterize the space.
Tra questi la scala, di un giallo squillante, segnalata
sul pavimento, come tutte le altre soglie della casa,
da piastrelle triangolari bianche e nere. Si tratta
di un volume scultoreo in contrasto con il contesto,
un’architettura in miniatura che spiazza,
addensando elementi e funzioni.
Salendo al piano superiore si cambia registro
e scala, l’atmosfera diventa più intima e personale,
gli spazi si stringono, si avvicinano l’uno all’altro,
i colori si attenuano. Siamo nella zona notte, dove
troviamo quattro camere da letto, per i genitori
e i tre bambini, ognuna con il suo carattere
individuale, con un colore personale, un proprio
codice grafico, addirittura una maniglia della porta
d’ingresso disegnata ad hoc.
È una casa delle citazioni, Nadja, come spiegano
Konstantinos Pantazis e Marianna Rentzou, i due

them the staircase, painted bright yellow, is marked
on the floor, like all the other thresholds
in the apartment, by triangular black and white
tiles. It is a sculptural volume in contrast with
the context, a piece of architecture in miniature
that catches you off-guard, condensing elements
and functions.
Climbing to the upper floor the tone and scale
change, as the atmosphere grows more intimate
and personal, the spaces get smaller and closer
together and the colours are subdued. We are in
the sleeping area, where there are four bedrooms,
for the parents and their three children, each with
an individual character, a personal colour, a graphic
code of its own, even a door handle designed ad hoc.
Nadja Apartment is full of citations, as
Konstantinos Pantazis and Marianna Rentzou,

al movimento Memphis e anche, in alcuni dettagli,
a Gio Ponti. Ma non solo: c’è anche un forte
richiamo all’architettura e ai materiali tipici
delle isole dell’Egeo. E poi elementi che
provengono da mondi lontani, come il Giappone
o la Finlandia. Insomma, non amiamo concentrarci
su un unico stile, pensiamo che lo spazio diventi
interessante nel momento in cui i vari riferimenti
trovano il loro equilibrio, ibridandosi l’uno
con l’altro». Pezzo per pezzo, quindi, Nadja
si compone dando vita a una sinfonia di stili
e suggestioni. Molto distante dal candore
asettico caro ai razionalisti.

to postmodernism, to the Memphis movement
and even, in some of the details, to Gio Ponti.
But that’s not all: there is also a strong reference
to the architecture and materials typical of the
Aegean Islands. And then elements from distant
worlds, like Japan or Finland. In short, we don’t like
to stick to a single style. We think the space
becomes interesting at the moment in which
the various references find their equilibrium,
cross-fertilizing one another.” Nadja, therefore,
is composed piece by piece, giving rise to a
symphony of styles and impressions. A long way
from the aseptic purity dear to the rationalists
