organisation
The cultural association Sinergie – Synergies – was born during spring 2004 in
Zagarolo, an ancient village just outside Rome: its main inspiration was, and still is,
the recovery and promotion of handicraft, particularly with regard to women’s
activities.
It’s in the collaboriation between individuals, carrier of particular identity and
sensitivity, with different geographical origins, cultural heritage, beliefs and life
experiences, that the founders find the most significant push and the consequent
urge to act and set project proposals.
Sinergie’s Aims
• Supporting culture, handicraft, tourism and development of the territory
• Promoting ancient and different uses and cultures to the new generations
These aims are implemented through arranging workshops, exhibitions, and events,
by focusing on the artisan as a repository and at the same time as a promoter of
valuable techniques and on the transfer of knowledge to new learners, and by
outlining the opportunity to re-evaluate the entire working dimension of women.

• 2007- ongoing Tramando... Tessendo, Exhibition on textile handcraft
• 2011 Grundtvig Workshop – Courses of lace pillow and weaving loom
Main educational
activities
On June 2007 Sinergie gave life to the laboraotry La Piazzetta delle Arti, where
everyday two artisans work, offer their experiences on textile craft with particular
attention to material and manufacturing quality: they arrange courses of lace
pillow, crochet and needlework.

On June 2011 the artisans of La Piazzetta delle Arti experienced their first
international courses by teaching lace pillow and weaving during the Grundtvig
