Area di Interesse: L’attività sperimentale, in cui svolge, in particolare, il ruolo di coordinatrice dell’attività scientifica, si realizza
attraverso campagne di misura intensive in aree urbane, rurali e remote e attraverso la realizzazione e l’implementazione di nuove
tecniche analitiche di laboratorio finalizzate allo studio dei principali inquinanti presenti nell’atmosfera e negli ecosistemi acquatici e
terrestri con particolare riferimento al mercurio atmosferico. Studio dei processi di trasporto e trasformazioni chimico-fisiche dei
maggiori inquinanti atmosferici su diverse scale spaziali e temporali, con particolare riferimento alle dinamiche del mercurio nella
troposfera polare artica ed antartica; Studio dei processi di trasformazione del mercurio nel Marine Boundary Layer (MBL) del Mar
Mediterraneo; Sviluppo di tecniche di campionamento ed analitiche per la determinazione dei livelli di mercurio e della sua
speciazione chimica in atmosfera ed all'interfaccia aria-acqua su scala regionale (Mediterraneo) e su scala globale (Artico e
Antartide); Sviluppo dei metodi standard per il mercurio ed i suoi composti nell’ambito delle attività del Working Group sul Mercurio
del CEN / TC 264.
