L’EUROPE
SECAP gathers and represents the organisations that manage - in 10 European
countries - about 18,000 km of toll infrastructures. Its main objective is to achieve the
complete deployment of the potentialities of the
European motorway system in a complex and
quickly evolving scenario where the PublicPrivate Partnership will play an increasingly
important part in supplying services of general
interest.
’ASECAP réunit et représente les organismes
qui gèrent – dans 10 Pays européens – à peu
près 18.000 km d’infrastructures à péage et
se pose comme objectif le déploiement complet
des potentialités du système autoroutier européen
dans un scénario complexe et en évolution rapide
où le Partenariat Public-Privé revêtira un rôle
toujours plus important dans la fourniture de
services d’intérêt général.

The European toll infrastructure concessionaires
concisely listed and described in this publication, over the years have become fully aware of
this, and have applied their experience acquired
at national level by co-operating in the definition of common scenarios, with the aim to
constitute and manage in the best way possible
the Trans-European road networks.
To this end, I hope that this Bulletin, in its next
issue, may already provide data on the networks
of those countries that, although as yet not
members of ASECAP, are the natural extension of
the European Union and of its networks due to
their position in Eastern and Central Europe or on
the shores of the Mediterranean sea. In this
framework the members of ASECAP will provide
support and help in the development of the great
East-West and North-South connections
throughout Europe.

Les Concessionnaires européens d’infrastructures à
péage, recueillis et décrits synthétiquement dans
cette publication, en ont pris conscience depuis
longtemps, en faisant trésor des expériences
acquises au niveau international et en coopérant
à la définition des scénarios communs, conscients
de leur rôle dans le cadre de la constitution et de
la gestion des réseaux trans-européens.
Dans cette optique je souhaite que ce Bulletin
puisse, déjà dans sa prochaine édition, rassembler aussi les données des réseaux de Pays non
encore adhérents à l’ASECAP mais qui, pour leur
position dans l’Europe Centrale et Orientale ou
dans le bassin de la Méditerranée, constituent
l’extension naturelle de l’Union Européenne et de
ses réseaux, pour lesquels l’ASECAP et ses concessionnaires joueront un rôle fondamental de
soutien et de valorisation des grandes liaisons EstOuest et Nord-Sud d’Europe.

Carriageway shall be separated either
by median reservation forbidden to
traffic or, in exceptional cases, by
other means.
b) Motorways shall not cross any
road, route, railway line or tramway
at the same level.
c) Motorways shall have special road
signs which are exclusive to the

any carriageway, route or right of way.
c) Motorways shall have a carriageway for each direction of traffic
flow with, except at certain special
points or on a tamporary basis, a
separation between each by a strip
of terrain not intended for traffic, or,
in exceptional cases, by other means.
