Fiori di carta crespa
What you need:
* coloured crepe paper
* thin and strong wire
or wooden or paper sticks
for the stalks
* transparent glue

* carta crespa nei colori
prescelti
* filo di ferro sottile per legare
i petali e più robusto per i
gambi o sostituirli con dei
bastoncini
* colla trasparente

This is made by rolling up a
long double strip of crepe
paper cut as shown in fig. 1:
see the photo .
l’ottieni avvolgendo su se
stessa una lunga striscia di
carta crespa piegata in due
tagliuzzata come indica la fig.
1 avvolta su se stessa: vedi
fiore a colori.
Petals:
fold a long strip of crepe paper like an
“accordion”, as shown in fig. 2, and cut only
the upper part.
Roll these joined petals round the centre and ,
at the same time, tighten them round it with
some thin wire.
Petali:
piega a “fisarmonica” una lunga striscia di
carta crespa come indica la fig. 2 e ne ritagli
solo la parte alta.
Avvolgi questi petali attaccati tra loro intorno
al cuore e allo stesso tempo stringendoli ad
esso con del filo di ferro sottile.
Covering the stalk:
It has a diameter of at least 1.5 mm, wound
only once round the petals and then
covered with the usual sepals and with a
narrow green ribbon of crepe paper : see raffia
flowers a) and b).
Copertura del gambo:
esso ha un diametro di almeno 1,5 mm,
avvolto una sola volta intorno ai petali e poi
coprilo con i soliti sepali e con il nastro di carta
crespa verde: vedi i fiori di rafia a) e b).
Wind the covered stalk round a glass jar so it
becomes a spiral which keeps the flower
upright.
Avvolgi il gambo ricoperto su un vaso di vetro
così da trasformarsi in una spirale capace di
sostenere il fiore appoggiato sul tavolo.

The sea flowers
These must be quite big (you
need half a sheet of crepe
paper and as long as you
want).
I fiori mare,
richiede di essere di
dimensioni grandi (mezzo
foglio di carta crespa e lunga
tanto quanto lo desideri ).
You give the flower its wavy shape by
winding the string in the stretched edge of the
paper: see photo above.
Wind this long strip of wavy crepe paper round
and fix it at the base with some thin wire.
Sepals and stem:
Make them with a strip of green crepe paper
2.5 cm wide that, after covering the base of
the flower, goes down to cover the stem.
L’ondulazione del fiore l’ottieni con lo spago
avvolto nel bordo teso della carta: vedi la foto
sopra.
Questa striscia di carta ondulata l’avvolgi su se
stessa e la blocchi alla base con del filo di ferro
sottile.
Sepali e gambo:
i sepali li ottieni con la striscia di carta che,
dopo aver ricoperto la base del fiore, scende a
ricoprire il gambo.

that of the flower
above but less rich.
The pistils are as wide
as the corolla and
made from a strip of
paper cut and wound
round as shown in
figs. 1 and 2.

The rose

its petals folded in
half are scored with a
nail: see below.

has been made with

Daffodil
La giunchiglia
What you need:
* orange crepe paper for the
inside bell; light yellow or
white for the external
petals and green for sepals
and stem
* thin wire and 1.5 mm wire
for the stem
* glue stick
* a big nail or a crochet hook
Che cosa ti serve:
* carta crespa arancione per
la campanella interna; giallo
chiaro o bianca per i petali
esterni e verde per sepali e
gambo.
* filo di ferro sottile e di mm.
1,5 per il gambo.
* colla stick
* un grosso chiodo o un
uncinetto
Small bell:
it’s a small rectangle of crepe
paper of 7 x 5 cm, overlapped on
the stem as shown in fig. 1.
Make the wavy edge by pressing
the paper on a big nail or a
crochet hook.
Petals:
There are 6 of them and wound
round the bell lightly curled: 1st
fig.
Sepals and stem:
Fold and cut a rectangular piece
of crepe paper as shown in fig. 3
and glue it round the base of the
flower.
On the base of the sepals glue
the usual green ribbon to cover
the stem.
Campanella:
è un rettangolino di carta
crespa di cm.7 x 5,
sovrapposto sul gambo
come indica la fig. 1.
Ottieni le ondulazioni sul
bordi premendo la carta su
un chiodo.
Petali:
sono 6 e avvolti intorno alla
campanella leggermente
arricciati: 1° fig.
Sepali e gambo:
ripiega e ritaglia un
rettangolino di carta crespa
come indica la fig. 3 e
incollalo intorno alla base
del fiore. Sulla base dei
sepali incolla la solita
strisciolina verde per
ricoprire il gambo.
Bud of roses
What you need:
* coloured crepe paper
* green wire: you can buy it
in florist shops
Boccioli di rose
Cosa ti serve:
* carta crespa dei colori
adatti alle rose e il verde
pisello
* filo di ferro verde: lo puoi
acquistare dai fioristi

Pistils inside the bud:
Make them with 2 rectangular
pieces of crepe paper: white and
orange, of 6 x 4 cm,
cut so that the paper doesn’t
yield and wound round (see
daffodil).
Bud:
The real size of its petals are
shown in fig. 2
Make them from several rectangles of paper
of 6 x 3cm. overlapped
The petals are widened at point a–b and
wound around the bunches of pistils one at a
time: fig. 1.
Sepals:
These are made with a rectangle of green
crepe paper of 6 x 4cm., cut as shown in fig. 3
of the daffodil and wound round the bud.
Stem:
It is a piece of green wire that you tighten
round the bottom of the bud and then twist
round itself.
When this is completed, cover the stem.
Pistilli nel bocciolo:
li ottieni con 2 rettangoli di
carta crespa uno bianco e
uno arancione di cm 6 x 4,
tagliuzzati a frangia nel
senso verticale che la carta
non cede e avvolti su se
stessi (vedi giunchiglia).
Bocciolo:
le dimensioni reali dei suoi
petali sono quelle della fig.
2.
Essi si ricavano da più rettangoli di carta
crespa sovrapposti di cm. 6 x 3.
I petali sono allargati al punto AB e avvolti
intorno al mazzetto di pistilli uno per volta:

Sepali:
sono ricavati da un rettangolo di carta crespa
verde di cm. 6 x 4, tagliuzzato come indica la
fig. 3 della giunchiglia e avvolto intorno al
bocciolo.
Gambo:
è un pezzetto di filo verde che stringi attorno
alla base del bocciolo e poi lo attorcigli su se
stesso.
Dopo questa operazione rivesti il gambo come
di consueto.
Wreath
Ring:
use a wire 2 mm in
diameter, wind it
round an object (pot,
bottle) of the size you
want and fasten it
with thin wire.
Cover it with strips
of toilet paper or
strips of news paper
to create the width
that you want.
Lastly, cover it with
green crepe paper
ribbons and gift
wrapping ribbon.
Ghirlanda
Anello:
utilizza del fil di ferro
di 2 mm. avvolgilo
intorno a un oggetto
del diametro della
ghirlanda che vuoi
realizzare e chiudilo
con del filo di ferro
sottile.
Rivestilo con della
carta igienica o con
delle strisce di
giornale, sino a
creare il diametro che
desideri.
Completala
avvolgendola con una
striscia di carta
crespa e del nastro
per pacchetti da
regalo.

Floral arrangement
Composizione floreale
First make the leaves by folding each of them
in half, curling them before pasting them onto
the central part of a small green cardboard
disc.
Crea prima di tutto le foglie piegando ciascuna
di esse al centro, arricciandole prima
d’incollarle al centro di un piccolo disco di
cartoncino verde.
